If you’re thinking about playing the Windows PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, maybe reconsider it? At least, until a patch comes out. People are reporting odd problems with the game that are unrelated to the amount of action on screen. Put simply, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has memory issues that result in random slowdown and stuttering. There have even been crashes.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 problems tend to kick in on the highest settings. The Ultra settings in particular can max out a system’s memory. The framerate drops, the title slows to a crawl, and it stutters. People with Intel i5 processors in particular may be affected.
Treyarch is aware of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PC problems. One patch was released this weekend and more are on the way. The developer also recommends enabling Vsync and setting the FPS cap at 58 if you have a 60hz monitor.
Let’s hope these issues are fixed soon.
