Civilization is one of the most popular turn-based strategy games out there. Whether on PC, console, or mobile, it’s one of the few franchises that has yet to be marred by a crappy release. Almost every single game and the myriads of DLC packs have been well-received by fans and critics. Civilization Revolution 2 was no exception, appearing exclusively on mobile platforms last year.
Come December 3, Civ fans will get the opportunity to play the mobile hit on their PS Vita. If you’ve never played a Civilization game, Revolution 2 Plus might be the best place to start. Joe Faulstick, a producer over at 2K Games, tells noobs what they can expect: “Basically, in Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus, you can build up a civilization from scratch with an interface designed specifically for touchscreens and consoles, or follow along with specific scenarios and see how well you fare against historical world leaders.” It sounds simple, but you’ll find that map management, unit and technology upgrades, resource allocation, and politics all play a part in building a thriving civilization. Give it a shot; this could be the perfect time-killer while you wait for bigger holiday goodies.
