CivilizationEDU Comes to Classrooms This Fall

CivilizationEDU Comes to Classrooms This Fall

High school students are going to get some homework that could suck them in for at least 200 hours. Civilization V is coming to classrooms. Except it isn’t exactly Civilization V. Firaxis and 2K Games are preparing a modified version of it called CivilizationEDU for high school students to use and learn from. Man, now I’m thinking about the easy “A” I could have gotten had this been part of my curriculum.

CivilizationEDU will roll out in fall 2016. It’ll be designed to work with multiple subjects, as Firaxis will be creating specific in-game tools and game mods that will make it a more educational experience designed to test critical thinking skills. GlassLab Inc, a learning company, will add learning analytics for teachers to check as students go through the ages.

If you’re not lucky enough to still be in high school and play CivilizationEDU for free, then there’s still hope for you. Civilization V is currently 75% off as part of the Steam Summer Sale , making it $7.49. Or, you can get the complete bundle with all DLC and expansions for 92%, making it $12.27.
