At yesterday’s Electronic Arts press conference, we saw some new Titanfall 2 footage and heard the announcement that the game would have a single-player campaign. Now more good news has emerged for Titanfall 2 fans. All maps and modes for the game will be free. Respawn Entertainment learned an important lesson about not splitting the playerbase with the original Titanfall, and lead programmer Jon Shiring told PC Gamer last night that the lesson stuck:
“One of our lessons is we’re not gonna sell maps anymore,” Shiring said. “All the modes and maps coming to Titanfall 2 after release will all be free.”
This does not, of course, mean that all Titanfall 2 DLC will be free. There will almost certainly be cosmetic DLC available, as we’ve already seen war paint and camo available as pre-order bonuses. After all, who doesn’t want to pimp their mech?
