Evolve Statistics Point Toward Decent Game Balance

Evolve Statistics Point Toward Decent Game Balance

The team behind Evolve has just released an infographic showing off some stats after the first week of the game’s release, and they are pretty promising. Using the data from six million matches played, the stats point toward a game which is pretty decently balanced and running the way the team intended.

Games usually last about 10 minutes, with it taking around 2 minutes for the hunters and the monster to find each other. The monster levels are working the way you would expect them to. The monster only wins a little more than ten percent of the time when at stage 1, and about fifty percent of the time at stage 2. At stage 3, the monster wins seventy five percent of the time, emphasizing the importance of hunting it down before it hits that third evolution.

The infographic also shows how often each character is played. All assault classes are played about the same, with Parnell being played the least at 29% and Hyde being played the most at 37%. Medics are a little bit more split, with Lazarus and Caira being played 40% and 38% of the time respectively, and Val being left in the dust. Finally, support and trapper classes have clear favorites, with Cabot taking home the support role trophy at 43% usage, and Abe taking home the trapper trophy at 44% usage. The monster side also has a clear favorite, with 37% usage going to the Goliath, even though the community says the Wraith is obviously the most powerful.

The final stat worth noting is that the monster actually edges out the hunters a little bit, winning 52% of the time. That is a very very small deviation from even, so I would say the game counts as balanced in my book.
