First Guitar Hero 5 Details Revealed

None

Activision not only announced Tony Hawk Ride, they also confirmed a number of details concerning Guitar Hero 5.

The new Party Play mode will allow groups of players to exchange both instruments and difficulty levels at any time. Also, Guitar Hero 5 can be played with any combination of instruments. In other words, you can play with multiple drums, all guitars, a duet of singers, etc. The only caveat being you can’t exceed the four-player limit.

As intriguing as it is to think about four bad drummers in my living room, being able to play every song from the outset, without having to slave through Blink or Weezer first, will be a real boon to the series.

Additionally, the inclusion of RockFest (an expanded competitive online and local multiplayer mode), redesigned GHMusic, Band Moments (mid-song side challenges that test the entire band’s skills), and unique song challenges (similar to what will be found in Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Rock’s Fan Requests) should make the experience even more challenging and varied.

Finally, Guitar Hero 5 will feature a soundtrack that draws from master tracks of 85 different artists (30 of which are new to the series). The presser teased the following, abbreviated set-list:

  • “Sympathy For The Devil” by The Rolling Stones
  • “All Along The Watchtower” by Bob Dylan
  • “Blue Orchid” by The White Stripes
  • “No One To Depend On (LIVE)” by Santana
  • “A-Punk” by Vampire Weekend
  • “Runnin’ Down a Dream” by Tom Petty
  • “Ring Of Fire” by Johnny Cash
  • “Sex On Fire” by Kings of Leon
