Free Cyberpunk 2077 DLC and Multiplayer Confirmed

Free Cyberpunk 2077 DLC and Multiplayer Confirmed

At launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be a strictly single-player, self-contained adventure in an open world. Everything people will need to enjoy themselves will hopefully be there. However, CD Projekt Red is thinking about the game’s future. Most notably, what people will get to continue to do alone or with friends after they might be done with the main game. This means people wondering what could come next can take solace in knowing free DLC and multiplayer will eventually be on the way.

The Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer content has been teased for a while. The develop kept noting that it was exploring the possibility and seeing if some sort of multiplayer component would be plausible and possible within its world. However, the teases are turning into a real development. CD Projekt Red has even started hiring for eight positions, like 3D Character Artist, Design Director and Game Designer, for the multiplayer mode on its official website . This mode will arrive after the game is released and DLC appears.

This update also came with details about eventual Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Most notably, that they will be free. These add-ons will come after the game is released, but it didn’t mention what kind of DLC there will be. More single-player content was mentioned too. However, CD Projekt Red didn’t include the all-important “free” note after it mentioned single-player content, so perhaps that could be referring to potential expansions akin to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ s Blood and Wine.

Cyberpunk 2077 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. Considering free DLC and multiplayer are on the horizon, its future could be quite bright.
