GameStop Expects Call of Duty: Ghosts To Win 2013’s Pre-Order Contest

GameStop Expects Call of Duty: Ghosts To Win 2013’s Pre-Order Contest

While Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg’s August comment that Call of Duty: Ghosts preorders were a far cry from those generated by Black Ops 2 put quite a damper on the Call of Duty parade, retailer GameStop has risen to the occasion to confirm that the FPS juggernaut is still alive and kicking. It may end up kicking itself in the face a few times in the process, but, as Gamestop’s VP of merchandising recently stated, Call of Duty: Ghosts is apparently “on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year.” The news, while a bit vague, is presumed to apply to other retailing giants as well, namely Amazon, which saw a gaming frenzy of its own just last month.
