Halo: Fireteam Raven Announced for Arcades

Halo: Fireteam Raven Announced for Arcades

This summer, the Halo series is coming to arcades – specifically Dave & Busters. Microsoft has unveiled Halo: Fireteam Raven , a modern, lightgun arcade game that is set during the events of the original Halo: Combat Evolved .

Halo: Fireteam Raven is a project from Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix, with some degree of involvement from core Halo house 343 Industries. It appears to be a two-screen game that supports up to four players. Of course, the players are identified through their color-coded aiming reticles.

A trailer released shows off the hardware a little, although it doesn’t present a good look at the whole machine except for a marketing vector. The machine itself is a sit-down gimmick, with the titular Halo itself wrapping around behind the players.

The gun is pretty typical for games of its ilk; it’s mounted to the machine, and has two handles with triggers for the player to hang onto and move to aim. It also has a comically-labeled “RELOAD” button right in the middle.
