Huge Silent Hill: Homecoming PC Mod Released

Huge Silent Hill: Homecoming PC Mod Released

While Konami may have given up on Silent Hill , the community hasn’t. Pyramid Head in Super Bomberman R is pretty cool (and overpowered), but Silent Hill fan Steam006 has developed and released a patch for Silent Hill: Homecoming that brings the PC version of the game up to modern standards in a big way.

Most notably, this mod lets Silent Hill: Homecoming run at 60fps, allows for Field of View control, patches the hard-coded 720p resolution values, and enables support for up to 8x (MSAA) multisampling. Also, it allows the game to use 4GB RAM, patches map and item resolutions, lets users disable DirectX fog, adds a wireframe mode, wallhack, and controls for map and item size.

For those interested, here are the instructions to follow after you download the patch:

  • Start the game normally and set the resolution of your monitor in the options menu. Exit the game.
  • Copy all the files to “steamappscommonSilent Hill HomecomingBin”
  • Configure the width and height in Silent_Hill_Homecoming_PC_Fix.ini.
  • Start the game with Silent_Hill_Homecoming_PC_Fix.exe.
