Initial PlayStation Plus Incentives Revealed

Initial PlayStation Plus Incentives Revealed

None

If you’re wondering what Sony will be shelling out to early adopters of their PlayStation Plus program, ponder no longer. Sony has officially announced the slew of content they’ll be hurling at the masses willing to sign up for a 3 month subscription at $17.99, or a full year at $49.99. First off, you’ll get 4 free games including Wipeout HD (PSN), Fieldrunners (Minis), Age of Zombies (Minis), and Destruction Derby (PS1). These will be accessible as long as you remain a subscriber, even if there is a gap in your subscription.

Subscribers will also find two premium themes (Little Big Planet and PlayStation “Game is Just the Start”), two premium avatars (Fat Princess related), and DLC for Killzone 2 offered for free. Exclusive discounts of 50% off God of War and Loco Roco costume packs for Little Big Planet and 20% off the PSN titles Gravity Crash and Fat Princess are also included. Another intriguing benefit of the Plus program was the full game demos that allowed players to try out full games for a certain amount of time before having to decide whether or not to purchase them. For the first month of Plus, the full game trials will include both Shatter and Savage Moon.

Of course, if you live in Europe you’ll also be getting a free digital copy of Little Big Planet, yours to keep forever, just by signing up for a year’s worth of Plus. Unfortunately, no such announcement has been made for the U.S. as of yet. Hopefully we’ll be hearing something similar to this incentive for the states in the next few days, before the service officially kicks off on June 29th.
