LEGO Movie Director Teases Doctor Who for Sequel

LEGO Movie Director Teases Doctor Who for Sequel

LEGO fans were surprised to see Doctor Who included in the NFC game, LEGO Dimensions . As a result of the series’ popularity, and the deal with the BBC that lead to the development of a Doctor Who playset, it seems that the good Doctor may be making an appearance in the sequel to The LEGO Movie .

Rob Schrab, the director of the first movie, teased this possibility during an interview on this week’s Harmontown podcast. He stated that they were currently in negotiations with BBC but couldn’t elborate on what kind of role the Doctor might play in the film. Personally, I’m hoping it’s more than just a cameo and more akin to something like Batman’s role from the first film. It was also not specified which iteration of the Doctor they had in mind or if the character would be portrayed by the corresponding actor.

In the case of the game, LEGO Dimensions, the most current version of the character was used. Peter Capaldi, who has been carving out his own style of the Doctor over the past two years, even lent his voice to the game. It seems feasible that this is the route Schrab might take if the deal goes through and things go smoothly in terms of casting. What do you think? Would you like to see the second LEGO Movie contain a part for the popular time traveler and, if so, which version of the character?
