The Gears of War: Ultimate Collection may be a Xbox One exclusive right now, but it isn’t going to stay that way. The game has always been intended to appear on not only Microsoft’s console, but also Windows PCs. There just hasn’t been a set timeline, but we now know 2016 is the time.
Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s head of the Xbox division, says that people can expect the game in early 2016. He confirms that no exact release date or window is known, but that it “won’t be too far into 2016.” That makes it seem like the first half of 2016 could be likely.
The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a remake of the original Gears of War . The voice acting and music are the same, but it features remastered graphics and new motion capture, a new control scheme, a slightly altered ending, the original PC version’s five extra chapters, completely improved multiplayer with new match options, Gears of War 3 characters for multiplayer, and 19 maps.
