Microsoft won’t be Bringing the Xbox One to the 2015 Tokyo Game Show

Microsoft won’t be Bringing the Xbox One to the 2015 Tokyo Game Show

People in Japan aren’t going to see Microsoft at one very special event. It turns out the company won’t be attending the 2015 Tokyo Game Show. That means no media briefing or booth for attendees to test out Xbox One games. It hasn’t offered any alternative plans to showcase the system and its forthcoming games in Japan.

This news isn’t at all surprising. The Xbox One only passed 50,000 total Japanese units sold back in April 2015. Not to mention, only 100 Xbox Ones were sold the week of June 8, 2015 . Japan isn’t Microsoft’s target market this generation.

On the plus side, Microsoft will definitely be at Gamescom 2015 in Europe. Its briefing at that event will be held at 10am ET on August 4, 2015, there will be a Xbox FanFest August 4-5, and of course a booth will be showing off Xbox One games on the show floor.
