Nintendo’s Wii U Gets A Third-Party Boost; Smash Bros. Entry

None

Rounding out its Wii U presentation at its press conference this morning, Nintendo gave gamers a glimpse of what they’d have to look forward to from third-party developers on the upcoming console. Big names that have declared their support include:

  • Vicarious Visions

  • Ubisoft

  • WB Interactive

  • Namco Bandai
  • Irrational Games
  • Disney Interactive Media Group

Specific titles that have been shown or announced include Darksiders II (as a launch title), a new Tekken entry with the ability to draw designs on one’s fighter, Batman: Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon Online, DiRT, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Metro: Last Light and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.

In addition to the above, Nintendo has announced that they will be publishing, in cooperation with Tt Games, an open world LEGO title—LEGO City Stories—exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS, and are readying a new Super Smash Bros. title for both systems that will make use of an as of yet unannounced connection between the two devices.

No dates have yet to be announced, but we promise to keep you updated!
