Those who own a copy of the latest God of War game, and managed to avoid initial download hiccups, have been able to play The Last of Us’ demo since Friday . With the game hitting shelves in less than two weeks, those who haven’t played Ascension, and have no intention of buying it, are probably wondering when they can get a taste of Naughty Dog’s latest.
The answer, according to the developer’s community strategist, Eric Monacelli, is never . “The demo is only available for God of War Ascension disc owners,” he said. “We have no plans to release it otherwise.”
Those who don’t have Ascension, though, aren’t really missing much. The demo is incredibly brief, maybe ten or fifteen minutes in overall length, and provides only a very basic idea of how the game might actually play. It certainly hasn’t swayed me one way or the other on picking the game up.
