Only One Game Is on the Dead Island: Definitive Collection Disc

Here’s one of those things that makes you go, “Huh?” The Dead Island: Definitive Collection is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 31. It includes Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. But, if you get the PlayStation 4 version, only Dead Island is on the disc. You have to download Dead Island: Riptide .

GameSpot got ahold of Deep Silver to find out why Dead Island: Definitive Edition has this issue on the PlayStation 4 and not the Xbox One. The response issued was, “There are limitations where you are unable to have multiple multiplayer experiences on the same disc, unfortunately we can’t comment further.” Which I suppose makes sense. Remember, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection didn’t include the multiplayer modes for Uncharted 2 or 3.

It’s disappointing, considering space is at a premium for these systems. There never seems to be enough room on my PlayStation 4 hard drive for what I want to play. I wonder if Dead Island: Riptide being a download will result in fewer people downloading that game.
