Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition Coming March 11

Fan favorite Ori and the Blind Forest is getting the definitive treatment. This title is not only unique in its style and in its presentation, but also in the way in which it was created; pieced together as it was by developers from all over the world. It’s a tender, beautiful, emotional tale, and a brilliant platformer inspired by games like Metroid and Rayman . If you never got to experience this game for yourself and have been waiting for the perfect time to jump in, now would be the time.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition drops on March 11 for Xbox One and Windows 10. The game will feature a cross-save feature for both versions. A new area has been added for you to explore, and the difficulty has been tweaked a bit. Now players can choose an easy mode with gentler enemies and more checkpoints, or else the brave may want to attempt the new one-life mode to get their names up on a global leaderboard. Spirit wells, which were only save points in the original, now act as fast travel points, though first-time players who want the true Ori experience with a Metroid vibe will want to backtrack and explore instead. By the way, if you already own Ori and the Blind Forest you will be able to upgrade to the definitive version, though we don’t know how much that will cost.
