Overwatch’s Halloween Update Could Go Live Today

Overwatch’s Halloween Update Could Go Live Today

We have a few reasons to believe that the Halloween update for Overwatch could be dropping in just a few hours. We’ve known about the Halloween loot crates for a while thanks to an Xbox Store listing leak last week, and now there’s been a flood of hints pouring in from Reddit and Blizzard’s Taiwanese branch as to when it everything will go live. The latter site leaked the image above, showing Dr. “Junkenstein” and his monster – Junkrat and Roadhog, respectively. The dates listed on the image originally read 10/11 – 11/1, but the original date was changed to 10/12 before the image was removed entirely.

So what’s going on? Multiple Korean gaming outlets have reported that a patch is coming on October 12 at 3AM KST. Locally that would mean a patch landing at around 2PM EST today, October 11. This patch would kick off the Halloween festivities, and weighs in at around 1.74GB.

In addition to loot crates and costumes, the Halloween update is said to include a new zombie or “horde mode” style Brawl. The Brawl will have players defend Eichenwald castle from waves of invading “Zombie Omnics.” There are reportedly three difficulty tiers for the Brawl, with corresponding rewards. It sounds incredibly fun, so hopefully we’ll get to try it out in a few hours.
