Persona 2 Innocently Sinning In North America

Persona 2 Innocently Sinning In North America

None

The only title in Atlus’ Persona sub-series to never see a North American release will finally be coming to Western shores. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin will arrive by way of an updated PSP port, similar to Atlus’ recent remastering of the original Persona. Atlus had originally revealed the existence of the Persona 2 port in October 2010, but hadn’t confirmed it for a North American release. A 1999-themed mock-up, released last week, further teased the title for Japan, but left its global fate up in the air. Today, Atlus finally revealed its plans to bring this title west.

In addition to a new interface and the option to play with either the original or a fully remixed soundtrack, the PSP edition of Innocent Sin will contain new side-quests and take advantage of the PSP’s wide-screen display.

While Innocent Sin was never released outside of Japan, the other part of the Persona 2 experience, Eternal Punishment, saw a North American release in 2000. There has been no word, yet on whether Eternal Punishment will follow in Innocent Sin’s footsteps and see a future re-release on the PSP.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin will be released fall of this year on the PSP.
