Play Hockey and get Festive in Rocket League

I am so mad at myself for missing out on Rocket League when it was free for PlayStation Plus members. This is a game that went totally under my radar until it was too late, and now I just have to watch y’all have all the fun. I’ve been impressed by Rocket League in many ways, not the least of which is how cosmetic car upgrades have been released regularly, free of charge. Now, Psyonix wants to help get Rocketeers (or should I call them The Rockettes?) in the holiday spirit with some new upgrades and a new game mode.

After a wee update you’ll be able to play in the new Hockey Mode, popping around a giant puck instead of your usual ball, and there are all kinds of festive drops up for keeps; antennas, toppers, and rocket trails. Unfortunately Xbox One owners will be missing out on the festivities, as Rocket League won’t land on Microsoft’s console until February, but Psyonix has promised to aggressively support the Xbox One version with additional DLC, so don’t worry! As for PS4 and PC players, the holiday content will continue to drop until January 4 so get out there, don ye your gay apparel, and ram some pucks.
