PlayStation Vita To Receive PlayStation Plus Support

None

Sony’s subscription-based PlayStation Plus service will soon be extended to its Vita handheld, the company announced at Gamescom today.

In order to make room for the added service, Sony also announced that Plus Vita members will see their cloud storage limit boosted to 1GB before the end of this year.

Sony said that additional details about the Vita’s PS Plus functionality will come at a later date.

To accompany the announcement, it was also revealed that Red Dead Redemption will be the latest addition to the rotating Instant Game Collection for Plus members, starting in September. The deal has only been confirmed for the EU region at this time, however, so whether or not North Americans will be able to get in on the freebie remains to be seen.
