Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is one of the two 2021 remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Developed by ICLA and published by Nintendo, the game was released to middling reviews from fans and critics alike as many were divided over the changes the remake brought.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond Premise

This game is a modern take on Pokemon Diamond. It’s gameplay is pretty much the same as the original. It features a top-down isometric perspective and follows the normal Pokemon formula. What separates these games from the rest of the series however is the distinct art direction.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond retains the original characters from the Generation IV games.

  • Lucas/Dawn: These are the canon names for the protagonist of the game. Whoever you don’t choose to play will take on the role of Professor Rowan’s assistant.
  • Barry: The childhood friend of the protagonist. He is known for his hyper and energetic personality.
  • Professor Rowan: The Pokemon professor of this region who studies Pokemon evolution.
  • Cynthia: The mysterious champion of the Sinnoh region. She’s into Pokemon mythology and spends her time investigating ruins.
  • Team Galactic: The main antagonists of the Sinnoh region. They want to create a new universe by using the legendary Pokemon in the region’s three lakes.

Since Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is on the Nintendo Switch there is no easy way to use them on official hardware. However, there are a ton of unlockables which will be listed below. We recommend this site if you are emulating the games and are interested in finding cheats.

End-game unlockables

In the top left room of Hotel Grand Lake, there are NPCs that reward you for completing certain tasks.

Jirachi and Mew

There is an older couple in Floaroma Town that will gift you the Pokemon Jirachi and Mew if you have save data from Pokemon Sword/Shield and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee, respectively.

The player starts out with 18 Boxes but you’re able to manipulate the system and receive up to 40 Boxes. Here’s how:
