Pre-Orders Open for Nintendo Switch Online Subscriptions

Pre-Orders Open for Nintendo Switch Online Subscriptions

Nintendo’s online plan for the Nintendo Switch is a bit absurd, but the fact that you can currently pre-order it on Amazon is beyond ridiculous. Yet that is, indeed, the case. We don’t have a release date yet, so Amazon is offering its standard placeholder date of December 31, 2018. We also aren’t entirely sure what we’ll be getting with the service. But, most importantly, why are we considering pre-ordering something that is not going to be limited?

The Nintendo Switch online plan doesn’t appear to be a bargain. The price is listed as $19.99 for a year. Should you subscribe, you’ll gain access to multiplayer voice chat through a phone application, cloud saves, and access to 20 launch titles. 10 of these titles have already been announced, and they include The Legend of Zelda and Tennis.

Really, there’s no harm in pre-ordering. Amazon doesn’t charge until a product ships. If, for some reason, you’re afraid that supplies are going to run out or want to show Nintendo you care, then I suppose you can head on over to Amazon and buy yourself a few months of Nintendo Switch Online.
