Production Error Amiibos Are Becoming Collector’s Items

Production Error Amiibos Are Becoming Collector’s Items

A couple production errors are causing some pretty strange Amiibos to be made. The first one to crop up was Samus wielding dual arm cannons. A Samus figurine like this has sold for $2,500 on eBay, grabbed by a serious collector of action figures no doubt. Of course, that price might have been jacked up due to the rumor that Samus’s NFC chip gives you free rides on the Russian Metro. Me… I’m not so sure.

The latest manufacturing error is kind of morbid. A Peach Amiibo figurine was found at Best Buy, still in packaging, with no legs. Eww… Of course, the figurine was then put on eBay and the bid has already gotten up to $3,500.

It’s kind of crazy that people are willing to pay so much money for essentially defective Amiibos. I’ll never honestly understand the action figure collector mindset. Oh well, whatever makes people happy.

Personally, I hope we keep seeing these defects hit the market. I want a Bowser with a Mario head or something.
