PS4 Requires Playstation Plus Subscription to Play Online

PS4 Requires Playstation Plus Subscription to Play Online

Back in June at the E3 press briefing, Sony declared that owners of the Playstation 4 will require Playstation Plus to play games online . Those with a current subscription to Plus on PS3 can expect their subscription to transfer over to their PS4, and those without a subscription (or with no intention of buying one) will be able to play single-player games and access all media services.

This news seems to have bubbled up again in the last week or so. So I’m here to regurgitate something you may already know–that playing online will indeed require a subscription to PS+, but that subscription will cost you $9.99 a month in the US, 6.99 euros in Europe, and 500 yen should you be reading this in Japan.  There’s also a $49.99 deal for a year’s membership that works out to be much cheaper.
