QuakeCon is underway, and as promised, we’ve been getting more information about Quake Champions . Champions was initially announced during Bethesda’s E3 with an explosive reveal trailer that showcased four champions. Earlier today, those champions were revealed to be Ranger, Visor, Nyx, and Scalebearer. Fans will recognize the hover-board-gliding Anarki as well, who can be seen in the latest trailer.
The new gameplay trailer finally shows Quake Champions in action, and boy does it look fast. Rocket jumps are back in a big way, and it looks like they propel you higher than ever before. Verticality has always been a huge part of Quake , and it’s something that was unfortunately missing in DOOM’s multiplayer. Tim Willits, id Software’s studio director, mentioned that in Champions players won’t be limited at all in their weapon selection – no loadouts, no limits to how many weapons you can carry at once. Expect Quake Champions to enter closed beta early in 2017. In the meantime, enjoy some fast, violent action from the gameplay trailer below.
