RUMOR: Watch Dogs Puts It On Your Tab

None

One of the few true surprises at E3, and a potential candidate for a movie deal , Watch Dogs impressed not so much with its open world mechanics or hacking-based super-powers, but with the reveal near the end of the demo that a campaign co-op mode would allow for other players to work together in an attempt to aid the main character (without, it would seem, his direct knowledge). It smacked of asymmetry, and what says asymmetry more than the Wii U?

That isn’t to say that Watch Dogs is coming to the Wii U. No word on that as of yet, but a recent image (courtesy of VG24/7 forum member Moonwalker1982), in concert with word from Ubisoft of a Watch Dogs mobile app that will allow one to track hacked targets on the fly seems to indicate some intensive tablet/mobile integration. Could this make a game a Microsoft SmartGlass application? A subject of Vita cross-play? It’s certainly a natural fit for the Wii U’s controller-with-a-screen, but with no systems as of yet announced, Watch Dogs’ reality-bridging functionality is still just the subject of rumor and speculation.
