Rush’s “2112” Hitting Rock Band

Rush’s “2112” Hitting Rock Band

None

How do you feel about playing a twenty-minute rock opera in Rock Band?

You know how I feel about it? Frickin’ awesome! Rush’s twenty-minute, seven-part opening track from their 1976 album 2112 is coming to Rock Band. It will be offered as three separate tracks. The first track combines “Overture” and “The Temple of Syrinx.” The second combines “Discovery” and “Presentation.” Finally, the last contains “Oracle: The Dream,” “Soliloquy,” and “Grand Finale.”

However, if you want to actually play the entire 2112 rock opera from start to finish, you can do that too. You can purchase the whole thing as a gigantic, twenty-minute beast of a song and play it from start to finish. To give you some incentive to actually sit in front of your TV playing a single song for twenty minutes, Harmonix will throw in the Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades for the song absolutely free, as long as you buy it in its full twenty-minute form.

All of this can be yours for a mere $5.50. If you’d rather get the tracks individually, they cost $2, and an extra dollar for each pro upgrade. These songs will be available on December 31st on the Xbox and on January 3rd for the PlayStation 3 and Wii.

Now get out there, play some rock operas, and hope that you don’t fail the whole song right before the end.
