San Diego Comic-Con is one of those events that celebrates everything pop culture in the best possible way. But if there’s one other thing it celebrates to the fullest, it’s commercialism. I’m not criticizing; it would be really hypocritical of me if I did. My very first Comic-Con, I scoped out all the gear ahead of time (especially Game of Thrones related) and made sure the first booth I visited was the one that had the stationary set I wanted. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with giving into impulse purchases from time to time, especially in a convention setting. Which is why this NieR: Automata news is so exciting.
San Diego Comic-Con offers a great opportunity for manufacturers of all kinds of products to announce what they’re going to sell next. Square Enix is taking advantage of that this week with prototypes of two NieR: Automata figures they will be releasing. One is Small Stubby, and the other is the incomparable 2B.
The detail rendered in the NieR: Automata figures is impressive. There are even interchangeable hands for 2B, as well as an extra face you can swap out. The exact design could change in the future, since these are just prototypes, but they’re looking great so far! If you’re in San Diego, you might as well track them down on the show floor for a closer look!
