Intentionally die twice, and pay Charon each time to get revived. You will now have access to a program for your gauntlet that will unlock the Fellow (easier) difficulty.
Successfully complete the game on any difficulty and with any ending to unlock the Master difficulty.
New Game+ mode
Successfully complete the game on any difficulty and with any ending to unlock the “New Game+” option. This option allows you to begin a new game while retaining data from the Demon Compendium, demon analyses, play log, fusion data, and DDS from your previous playthrough. You will also retain the “Skill Expansion” and “Demon Skill+” apps. You can also optionally choose to bring over level, stats, app points, macca, items, and equipment with “Reincarnation Restart”, or skip those with “New Life Restart”. Note: You can also bring over demons to the new game by using a demon for StreetPass when you defeat the final Boss during your original playthrough.
Carrying demons over to New Game+ mode
Normally in New Game+ mode, all of your party’s demons from the previous playthrough are erased. However, if you have a demon being used for StreetPass at the time you defeat the final Boss, that demon will not be deleted when you start New Game+ mode. Thus, use this glitch to bring over your powerful demons to New Game+ mode.
Alternate endings and saved game icons
Start any type of a New Game+ mode game. Four possible lights will mark your saved game file. Successfully complete the indicated task(s) to unlock the corresponding saved game icon and ending. Note: The “Alignment” stat is hidden, and becomes greater the closer you are to Law and decreases the closer you are to Chaos.
- Light #1 (green), Nothing Ending: Choose to become the True Messiah.
- Light #2 (blue), Law Ending: Have an Alignment of +9 to +100, and successfully complete the game.
- Light #3 (white), Neutral Ending: Have an Alignment of -8 to +8, and successfully complete the game.
- Light #4 (red), Chaos Ending: Have an Alignment of -100 to -9, and successfully complete the game.
Free HP and MP refill
Use the following trick to refill half of your team’s HP/MP in battle for free. When you hit an enemy’s weakness, the respective player or demon will gain the “Smirk” status. Do this and keep the “Smirk” status for all four fighters before you run out of turns. You will get a free health and magic refill for each fighter, up to half their respective HP/MP total.
Defeating Horde enemies easily
Horde enemies are weak to attacks that hit all enemies. Since Hordes are detected as being five enemies by the game’s targeting system, despite sharing one unified set of statistics like HP and MP, you can use attacks that hit all enemies (such as Critical Wave, Mabufu, Maragi, and Mazio) to hit these Hordes multiple times. This technique far exceeds the power of your basic attacks and numerous other skills on many occasions by at least triple their normal amount, and is even more useful if you use a skill element the enemy is weak to.
