Square Enix Hiring Staff for Next NieR Game

Square Enix Hiring Staff for Next NieR Game

If you weren’t sure whether or not there’d be another NieR game in the future, then you weren’t the only one. It would seem that even the director and producer of NieR are equally surprised at how well the game series has thrived. I say this, because NieR director Yoko Taro and producer Yosuke Saito both post messages on a job listing for the next NieR project.

Square Enix is seeking staff members to work on the next big NieR game. These employees would be writing plots, designing NPCs, and writing item descriptions. The job listing was paired with a set of messages from Taro and Saito. They both speak with a similar tone of amazement at the popularity of NieR . Not only that, but they poke fun at Taro in particular, saying that he is only human and needs help with his creations.

Saito in particular closes his message with a statement of understanding that this will be a highly contested position. While the competition will be rough, it’s worth applying if you believe you have the necessary skills. Taro on the other hand is as enigmatic as ever, since his heartfelt message ends with “*Lick-lick*.”

Weirdness aside, this is all a great sign for fans of the NieR series. It would seem there will be yet another game to look forward to after NieR: Automata !
