Summer Games Done Quick Raises Nearly $1.3 Million

Summer Games Done Quick Raises Nearly $1.3 Million

Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), a speedrunning marathon for charity, has hit a new hallmark. This year, the organization has raised $1.295 million. People made donations throughout the event, which ran from July 3 through 9, and the money will go to Doctors without Borders.

To give you warm fuzzies, this is a sign of a continuing trend. Previous Games Done Quick events have also passed the $1.2 million mark. Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 raised $1.2 million and SGDQ 2015 raised $1.23. The increased numbers on the summer games events makes me wonder if more people watch during the summer events?

Games Done Quick has also announced its next event. AGDQ 2017 will be held January 8-15, 2017. Maybe start saving some money to contribute for next year?
