Super Mario Maker Has Sold a Million Copies

Super Mario Maker Has Sold a Million Copies

Nintendo has reported that Super Mario Maker for the Wii U has sold one million copies around the world. This means that there are now over a million of you out there designing your own courses. Nintendo stated that over 2.2 million courses have been uploaded which combined have been played almost 75 million times. That’s incredible! If each course takes a minute to complete (some take much more, some take a little less) that’s over 140 years’ worth of playtime on a game that hasn’t even been out for a month, and the creators out there know that you can easily spend over a week designing and tweaking a single course.

I had my copy pre-ordered over a month in advance, and I couldn’t wait to start creating. Super Mario Maker gives you the tools to create your own Mario courses using the styles, landscapes, items and baddies from four of the most beloved games in the franchise. As far as course editors go, Super Mario Maker does it the best. Nintendo stated that this is the 32 nd game in the franchise to sell a million or more copies.
