Team Fortress 2 Is Free Forever

Team Fortress 2 Is Free Forever

None

Team Fortress 2’s new Über Update isn’t just an awesome DLC pack for people who have been supporting the game for ages; it’s also an incentive for newbies to play the game. This is practically the red carpet for one of Valve’s most surprising and awesome moves ever. Team Fortress 2 is now free to play, forever! Anyone on the internet can download it and play it as much as they like without having to pay a cent.

Not to worry though, nothing is going to change. You won’t see advertisements, or subscription fees, or anything else that might hinder the TF2 experience. The game will exist just as it does now, just in a much more zero-dollar capacity.

However, if you have spent money on the game in the past, you will get a few privileges. For example, free users get smaller backpack space and limited access to rare items and hats. Spending even one penny on Team Fortress in the Mann Co. store (or having spent money on Team Fortress 2 in the past) lifts those restrictions. Free users will also not be able to give items as gifts and will not have access to crafting blueprints.

So if you haven’t tried Team Fortress 2 yet, try it now. There’s no reason not to.
