The Tax Man Cometh for Witcher 3 Cheaters

The Tax Man Cometh for Witcher 3 Cheaters

Games as large as The Witcher 3 tend to have the occasional exploit in them; The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 , for example. But when a handful of economic exploits got a bit out of hand in its game, developer CD Projekt RED came up with a clever solution.

In the new Witcher 3 expansion, Hearts of Stone , there is an in game tax-collector, and he knows all about player’s potential attempts at fraud. In fact, he has dialogue written specific to a number of them, complete with punishments.

Of course, it wouldn’t be nice for him to simply accuse the player and then be done with it. Players have the ability to deny charges, even if they are, in fact, guilty. It’s just a fun little bonus that lets you know that the game is onto you. Honestly, it makes me want to exploit the game, just a bit.
