The Wii U Bounces Back after Price Cut

The Wii U Bounces Back after Price Cut

Nintendo’s Wii U has had some harsh times since it released a year ago. For a while, it was the worst-selling system on the market , and that was only a few months after its release.  However, after Nintendo dropped the price of the Wii U Deluxe Set by fifty dollars and offered a bundle of the console and a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD , sales started to pick up.

Over the month of September, sales have picked up over 200 percent, and they appear to keep growing. The lower price and the release of new titles such as Wii Party U , Wii fit U , Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games , and Super Mario 3D World have contributed to this new sales bump. Some fans are saying the impending release of the new Super Smash Bros. title has also been a factor.

In other Nintendo news, the 3DS is still the best-selling console on the market right now, holding that tile for the fifth consecutive month. This success can be attributed to the release of Pokemon X and Y as well as the upcoming releases of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds , and Mario Party: Party Island Tour .
