Valkyria Chronicles is an old game, but it’s got some life left in it yet. The original game came out almost eight years ago on the PS3 and was adored by fans and critics alike. Visually, it really set itself apart with its graceful blending of poppy anime designs and tame watercolor palettes. The story deals with very mature themes of war and racism, and the gameplay is a successful melting pot of strategy, RPG, and third-person shooter games. Somehow I missed out on this game when it was new and I never got around to playing it on Steam. Valkyria Chronicles is getting remastered for the PS4, though, and there’s never been a better time than now to dive in and experience this gem for the first time. We’ve known about the remaster for a while, but it was only recently confirmed by Sega that we’d see the PS4 version in the West. We expect to see Valkyria Chronicles on our PS4s this spring in Europe and North America.
