Valkyria Revolution Brings the Fire West in 2017

Valkyria Revolution Brings the Fire West in 2017

Action RPG fans, rejoice: Sega has added another title to the already stellar lineup of RPGs due out in 2017. We have word that the spiritual successor to the Valkyria Chronicles series is coming stateside. The game formerly known as Valkyria: Azure Revolution is set for an English release next year under the slightly simpler moniker of Valkyria Revolution.

Set in an alternate history, Valkyria Revolution features an all-new cast of characters in a world ravaged by the flames of war. Its new real-time combat system mixes in strategic elements for a totally different Valkyria experience, though a backdrop of political intrigue remains to move the story forward. The “Circle of Five,” a group of five friends with immense military and political influence, starts an uprising against a seemingly-evil empire, though their motivations may not be as pure as they appear on the surface. Being about war, it’s sure to be a bloody tale.

Valkyria Revolution will be released physically and digitally on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the second quarter of 2017. A Vita release is also planned, though it will be digital-only. Did I mention that the game’s soundtrack is by Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda? Insta-buy.
