WB Montreal Aims to Expand and Become “One of the Best-Known Studios in the World”

Canada is to become the home of one of the biggest names in gaming development, that is, if Warner Brothers and the Quebec government have anything to do with it. The announcement was made by reps of Warner Brother Games Montreal (with both Premier Pauline Marois and Élaine Zakaib, the minister responsible for the Quebec Economic Development Bank, in attendance).

Warner Brother Games Montreal looks to expand its studios and, with the help of a recent grant that will add an additional $1.5 million dollars, they hope to expand the company by adding over 100 new jobs and will provide the opportunity for the company to purchase new equipment.

Martin Carrier, Chief of Warner Brother Games Montreal, touts the recent investment as a step in the right direction for growth. “This Warner Brothers studio here in Montreal only opened three years ago but it is growing rapidly. In five years’ time the executives here expect that this studio will be on a par with every other Warner Brothers studio,” he said.

Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Brothers Interactive, expresses the company’s intent to become a larger name in the industry by saying, “By the end of five years, it’ll be 2018, there should be 500 people here and I think we’ll be one of the best-known studios in the world.”

Warner Brother Games Montreal makes its mark on the gaming world with its upcoming release of Batman: Arkham Origins , due out in October 25 th .
