New Game+ mode

Successfully complete the game to unlock a new main campaign mission (“The Queen’s Eyes”) and one of each Divine weapon, which is a new tier of gear that can also be extended to armor pieces. This will be your main source to becoming stronger during your second playthrough, other than leveling up. Complete the new campaign mission to unlock New Game+ mode, which is titled “Way Of The Strong”. In New Game+ mode, you can revisit the entire game using the region selection menu. You can also choose the mode for that region. However, only the first three missions will be unlocked at first, along with the sub missions. Complete the first three missions to access the rest of the regions. These regions offer higher XP rewards and loot. In New Game+ mode, you will keep your progress from your previous playthrough and have the ability to level up your Guardians to 30, which will take almost 10 missions to reach. There will also be a higher chance of random Divine drops, but you can enhance the drop rate by spending Ochoko Cups. There will also be new costumes for purchase at the Teahouse.

Unique armor and weapon sets

Most of the armor and weapons in the game are randomly dropped by enemies or Bosses, but some special sets are unlocked by completing specific missions and defeating Bosses. Successfully complete the indicated task to get the corresponding armor or weapon set:

Crusader Set: In the area with the pair of armored knights in the Tower Of London in the “Prologue”, enter through the open gates. There are two treasure chests in the exterior section that always drop parts of the Crusader Armor set. You can also kill the pair of crusaders at the tower entrance that leads up to the Shrine and the Derrick The Executioner boss. They will randomly drop Crusader armor parts.

Ninja Set: Successfully complete “The Way Of The Ninja: Novice” dojo mission. It is unlocked after completing the first main mission in the Kyushu region — and gaining access to the world map.

Raging Bull Set: Successfully complete the “Deep In The Shadows” (second) main mission to unlock the “Finders, Keepers” sub mission in the Kyushu region. Complete the “Finders, Keepers” sub mission to unlock the Raging Bull Set.

Warrior Of The West’s Honor Set: It is randomly dropped by the final Boss of “The Spirit Stone Slumbers” main mission, Tachibana Muneshige, in the Kyushu region. Defeat him multiple times to get all the drops — or fight him again in the “Invitation From The Warrior Of The West” sub mission that becomes available after completing this main mission. However, the fight against him in the sub mission is significantly harder compared to the first battle against him in the main mission.

Saika Clan Set: From the second shrine in “The Ocean Roars Again” main mission (Chugoku region), go through the illusory wall shortcut on the left to enter the ceremony area with the third bonfire. On the left is a smaller room with a treasure chest containing many of the Saika Clan pieces.

Kingo Set: Successfully complete “The Conspirators” main mission (Chugoku region) to unlock the Kingo Set blueprints, allowing you to craft the armor at the blacksmith. To craft these pieces, you must collect materials that only the Great Centipede boss drops. The Boss is found at the bottom of “The Silver Mine Writhes” main mission.

Genius Strategist Set: Successfully complete all main missions in the Chugoku region to unlock “The Way Of The Warrior: Adept” dojo mission. All the pieces drop from Marume Nagayoshi. To get the full set, defeat him multiple times. The armor pieces and weapons you get each time are random.

Hattori Hanzo Set: Successfully complete all main missions in the Chugoku region to unlock “The Way Of The Ninja: Adept” dojo mission. All the pieces drop from Hattori Hanzo. To get the full set, defeat him multiple times. The armor pieces and weapons you get each time are random.

Gyousha Set: This set is a random drop in the Kinki region, but it can also be found in certain treasure chests in the “Spider Nest Castle” main mission (Kinki region). Climb up the well from the bottom of the spider cave and follow the path down. Two set pieces are on the corpse. Two more pieces are on a corpse up the same path, around the stable on the left. The last pieces are in the castle keep. Climb the ladder in the center near the shrine, then go left in the hallway.

Genji Set: Defeat the Revenant in “The Battle Of Ohashi Bridge” mission to collect most of the set. To get the full set, complete the mission multiple times.

Justice Ministry Set: Drops from the first Boss in the “Sekigahara” main mission. To get the full set, defeat the Boss multiple times. The armor pieces and weapons you get each time are random.

Armour Of The Exceptional Set (Japan’s Bravest): Drops from the second Boss in the “Sekigahara” main mission. To get the full set, defeat the Boss multiple times. The armor pieces and weapons you get each time are random.

Greater Good Set: Available in the “Desperate Retreat” sub mission and as a reward in the “Sekigahara” main mission.

Kaido Maru Set: Drops from regular Yokai enemies in “The Source Of Evil” main mission (Sekigahara region). It also drops in the “Greater Demon Hunting” sub mission.

Daiichi Daiman Daikichi Set (Gallantry): Defeat the Boss (Ishida Mitsunari) at the end of the “A Defiled Holy Mountain” main mission (Omi region). All the pieces drop from Ishida Mitsunari. To get the full set, defeat him multiple times. The set pieces you get each time are random.

Ebony Set: Drops from the four repeat Bosses in the arenas surrounding the central keep of the demonic castle, in “The Demon King Revealed” main missions (Omi region). It also drops from the Ebony Samurai in “The Samurai From Sawayama” main mission (Omi region).

Demon King (National Unity) Set: Drops from the Oda Nobunaga Boss fight in “The Demon King Revealed” main missions (Omi region). It also drops during the “A Meeting On The Other Shore” sub mission where you fight both Nobunaga and his wife at the same time.

Master Swordsman Set: Successfully complete all “The Way Of The Warrior” missions at the dojo, reach 500,000 proficiency with dual swords, and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission (Sekigahara region) to unlock “The Grimmest Blades” mission in the Omi region. Defeat the Boss in “The Grimmest Blades” mission for a random chance at these armor pieces. To get the full set, defeat him multiple times.

Respec character

To reset your character’s skill points and attributes, complete the following steps:

    1. On the world map, go to “Starting Point” – “Blacksmith” – “Buy And Sell” – “Buy” – “Item” – “Book Of Reincarnation”.

    2. Buy the “Book Of Reincarnation” item for 10,000 gold. It allows you to reset skill points and Amrita so you can respec your character.

    3. Open the storehouse (at “Starting Point” on map), press L3 to switch to inventory, and go to “Usable Items” – “Book Of Reincarnation” – “Use”.

    4. You will now get all your Amrita back and can reallocate attribute points at the shrine, as well as Ninja Skill points, Ninjutsu, and magic.

The Book Of Reincarnation cannot be used during missions. You must complete the first two story missions to gain access to the world map and blacksmith. The world map is the screen where you choose your next mission. The price of the book increases with each purchase (10,000 – 30,000 – 100,000 – 300,000, 1,000,000 gold). Alternatively, you can get the Book Of Reincarnation from missions (found in hard to reach places or mission rewards). It can also be traded in the hidden teahouse for 800 glory. The price in the hidden teahouse increases with every purchase as well. You can reset your skill points as many times as desired — as long as you have the money/glory for it.

Disguises

To unlock disguises, complete the “Spider Nest Castle” main mission (Kinki region). Then, enter the hidden teahouse from the starting point on the map (where you also access the blacksmith). Select “Trade”, then “Transform”. Choose a disguise you want to purchase, then select “Transform” in the hidden teahouse. This will overwrite your current outfit. Gear you equip will not alter the look of the disguise. Use a disguise to get the “Disguiser” trophy. You need a minimum of 1,300 glory for the cheapest disguise (Hattori Hanzo). You get glory from fighting revenants (the red graves in missions that spawn the ghosts of dead players). You can farm it quickly by replaying low level missions where a lot of players have died.

Hair and beard customization

To unlock the Barber menu for hair and beard customization, spend a lot of money at the blacksmith (quickest way is to buy the “Book Of Reincarnation” item). This will give you patronage points which you can exchange for unlocks at the blacksmith. Then, press Triangle to talk to Tome at the blacksmith (while in the Blacksmith menu). Select “I have a request for Tome”, and then “Unlock Barber Menu”. You will be using the blacksmith a lot over the course of the game. All money you spend counts (even forging, reforging, etc.). Only one patronage point is required to unlock the Barber menu. Select a new hair style or beard to get the “Fashionista” trophy.

Forge and alternate armor appearance

You can forge and alter gear at the blacksmith. After completing the first main mission, you will unlock the world map and can talk to the blacksmith between missions. To forge an item and get the “Latest Masterpiece” trophy, go to “Blacksmith” – “Forge”. You get crafting materials by disassembling gear in your inventory. This can also be done at the blacksmith. Some materials are mission rewards. To refashion an item and get the “Refashion” trophy, go to “Blacksmith” – “Refashion”. You can give gear in your inventory the appearance of other gear that you have previously found. You can even give light armor the look of heavy armor without changing any stats or equip weight.

Easy Amrita

Successfully complete the “Deep In The Shadows” (second) main mission to unlock the “Finders, Keepers” sub mission. Keep replaying the “Finders, Keepers” sub mission to get a lot of Amrita. For even more Amrita, purchase the Amrita Blessing at the Shrine. Just ignore the other enemies and focus on the Kappa (turtle-like yokai with glowing shell). Kill the Kappa and collect the rewards. This sub mission can be completed in about five minutes. Repeat this as many times as desired. You will get approximately 12k Amrita each time you complete the sub mission, especially if you kill some of the enemies with the Amrita Blessing from the Shrine. This method also helps to quickly level up early in the game.

To get between 600k to 800k Amrita in ten minutes, first unlock the “Master Of The Twin Blades” sub mission in the Omi region. Successfully complete all “The Way Of The Warrior” missions at the dojo, reach 500,000 proficiency with dual swords, and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission (Sekigahara region) to unlock “The Grimmest Blades” mission in the Omi region. Complete “The Grimmest Blades” mission to unlock the “Master Of The Twin Blades” sub mission. Then, complete the final main mission and equip the Guardian Spirit you unlock to get a +12% Amrita drop bonus. Every time you complete the “Master Of The Twin Blades” sub mission, you will get x2 “Saisetsu-shin’s Sake” items. These consumable items make it so your Amrita earnings multiply after each kill. The multiplier stops if you are killed. You can also join the Toyotomi Clan for an additional Amrita drop rate bonus. This method requires practice and preparation. The “Master Of The Twin Blades” sub mission is challenging — so it helps to use twin blades or other fast weapons to kill opponents before you are completely overwhelmed. You have to fight Bosses and tough enemies, but a single run through the mission should only take 6-10 minutes, depending on your skill level. Defeating Nue is the hardest part of the mission. If you can complete the mission without dying, and use Saisetsu-shin’s Sake before the fight, you will get around 800k Amrita.

Easy gold

Typically the best way to quickly get gold is by selling your items to the blacksmith. However, do not sell the items before disassembling them. View some of items at the blacksmith for pricing. For example, an exotic sword may sell for 3,000 gold, but if you first disassemble it you will get 4-5 different ingredients that can be worth close to 10,000 gold. Thus, first disassemble items and then sell the materials to the blacksmith to get more gold.

Easy glory

You get glory from fighting revenants (the red graves in missions that spawn the ghosts of dead players). You can farm it quickly by replaying low level missions where a lot of players have died.

Easy purple items and exotic forge materials

This trick is best done with another player to maximize the amount of items you can farm. If you want to play with friends, all players need to complete a mission and then go to the Torii Gate. Select the desired mission and team up to start the mission together. The important part is the mission you choose, and it varies depending on your location and level. In the earlier stages, you do not need to farm too much. You can get most of the powerful armor sets relatively easily, but later in the game you need a lot of rare resources to improve gear and use features such as Soul Match and Reforge. Choose a mission that is relatively short, typically a sub mission since they are quicker and less confusing to finish. For example, try “The Okehazama Incident” sub mission in the Tokai region, but any slightly challenging mission works fine. Look for Revenants, which are the swords on the ground you can interact with to summon other players. You can get a quick glance at their equipment before summoning. Try to target those with at least half their equipment being purple. Most of the Revenants you summon can be killed in 1-2 hits using a the “Sloth” scroll and “Guardian Spirit” Talisman (if you are using one of the powerful Guardian Spirits). Make sure to equip any items/accessories that give an increased drop rate chance. There is also a “Luckbringer” Talisman you can craft. Farm higher level Revenants with purple and better gear for a while, then complete the mission. In about 20-30 minutes, you can get over 100 purple items and nearly 1,000,000 Amrita to use for leveling up. Some of the Exotic materials you can gather using this method include Tamahagane, Wood, Ingot, Lacquer, Spirit Iron Chunk, Spirit Iron Fragments, and more.

Easy Boss fights

Use the “Lifeseal” and “Sloth” Onmyo magic skills to significantly reduce the difficulty of all Boss fights. To unlock the “Lifeseal” Talisman, complete “The Way Of Onmyo: Novice” training mission. To unlock the “Sloth” Talisman, complete “The Way Of Onmyo: Adept” training mission. To use Onmyo magic, first increase your “Magic Core” stat. The Novice Onmyo magic requires five points in magic, and Adept Onmyo magic requires ten points in magic. Then, prepare the Talismans at the shrine. Each magic type has a Jutsu cost. The Jutus cost for Lifeseal is 4 (x2 Lifeseal Talismans), and 5 (x2 Sloth Talismans) for Sloth. If you have to choose between these two skills, it is recommended to first get Sloth. Put the Talismans in your item menu, and use them when you are locked-on to a target (it takes some time to activate). Lifeseal lowers the recharge rate of your opponent’s Ki (stamina). When used against humans or other opponents that use a lot of Ki, it makes it much easier to drain their stamina bar and leave them exposed to a killing blow or heavy attack. When an opponent’s Ki is completely drained, they are stuck in an exposed, stunned state. Sloth significantly slows an opponent’s attack and movement. This is one of the best magic spells in the game, and currently works on all Bosses. This provides more time to attack and easily evade telegraphed attacks. Note: The Sloth magic spell may get nerfed in future updates because it is so powerful. If that happens, either do not install new patches before using this exploit or delete the patches. You can avoid patches being installed by disconnecting from the internet until you are ready for the game to install new patches.

Easy double Boss fights

Successfully complete “The Demon King Revealed” main mission (Omi region) to unlock new sub missions that require you to fight two Bosses at the same time. These are the hardest missions in the game. In “A Meeting On The Other Shore” sub mission, you fight Yuki-onna and Oda Nobunaga at the same time. In “The Two Kings: Nioh” sub mission, you fight Tachibana Muneshige and Honda Tadakatsu at the same time. There is a very easy trick to defeat them and any other Boss in the game with no skill required. Simply use Soulstones to power up your living weapon. Then, spam the living weapon (preferably spear for AOE damage). When the living weapon ends, use another Soulstone and repeat. While using the living weapon, you are invulnerable. Back up your save game before the fight so you can get your Soulstones back if you fail too often (PS4 Settings – Application Saved Data Management). For even better results, use the following build:

  • 30 Body (spear damage and health), 25 Magic (very important for next point), 75 Spirit (helps with living weapon).
  • Use the “Extraction Talisman” and “Pleiades Talisman” Onmyo magic skills. They make it so your living weapon auto recharges with every hit.
  • Other useful magic: Sloth (slows enemy by 50%), Carnage (increases attack damage), Weakness (lowers enemy defense), Devigorate (lowers enemy attack).
  • Guardian Spirit: Suzaku (+25% Amrita earned while using living weapon — so it recharges more with each hit).

You get Soulstones regularly as mission rewards and sometimes they are found as loot. Completing these double Boss sub missions also count towards the “Samurai Of Legend” trophy.

Increasing weapon familiarity and unlocking heritage bonuses

Weapon familiarity is a special stat that ranks your skill and adeptness for each weapon. Increasing the familiarity gauge through the ranks will unlock special heritage bonuses. The heritage bonuses can be transferred to new weapons at the Blacksmith forge — so there is no reason to discard useful weapons. Some of the best weapons have bad heritage upgrades, and some decent swords may have powerful heritage potential. That is why you should save and use money to increase your familiarity. Use the following methods to increase your familiarity:

    1. Simply killing lots of enemies increases most of your familiarity, and it is most useful for the weapons you want to upgrade. Killing enemies, depending on their level, your level, and the weapon you are using, will always provide an upgrade to the weapon familiarity meter. Using a weapon is the best way to increase familiarity, and your primary weapons will easily rank up. To farm familiarity using this method, select the Yokai Realm arena sub missions for a quick fight. You can also replay missions and use the Shrine to re-summon defeated enemies.

    2. To quickly upgrade a weapon you do not use much in combat, use Whetstones to instantly increase the familiarity of your currently equipped weapon by +150. That is a good boost early and mid-game. They are also pretty cheap, and can be purchased from the Blacksmith. Purchase a lot of Whetstones and just keep using them to easily increase familiarity, especially with weaker or earlier game items that do not have a high maximum. You can then transfer the heritage to another weapon you do want to use —- just make sure the weapon has all the upgrades you want.

    3. If you are using a weapon with a high familiarity boost, like bonus damage depending on your level, the Uchiko Powder is useful. Purchase a bunch from the Blacksmith and apply it to your sword before a tough fight to take advantage of the upgrade. Note: This only provides a temporary upgrade.

    4. Magatama are common accessories you will find throughout the game, and often they will include weapon familiarity boosts built-in. Make sure to check each Magatama for stat buffs. These increases also stack, if you equip two at the same time, and more powerful Magatama will eventually unlock as you progress through the game. For better and more frequent drops, collect all the Kodama (green shrine spirits) in each region.

Nue Of Mount Hiei (Mission Level: 62): Nue Of Mount Hiei is fought during “The Demon Of Mount Hiei” main mission. This is an optional Boss and you will get the “Nue Slayer” trophy for defeating her. Unlike other Bosses, it does not display a health bar at the bottom of the screen. It is the exact same Boss as Nue in the earlier “The Spirit Stone Slumbers” main mission. The exact same stratgies apply. Use a spear in low stance. Wait for Nue to breathe lightning or poison at you. Then, quickly dodge to the left of her head (always the left so she cannot hit you), and attack with quick low stance attacks. While Nue breathes lightning, she is defenseless and will sit around. When you do enough damage, her KI depletes and she will be vulnerable for a few seconds. Follow up with your Guardian Spirit and she will not be able to recover from her downed state. Also, use the nearby hotspring before the fight to automatically refill your health.

Derrick The Executioner: During the final main mission, “The Queen’s Eyes” (Omi region), you can revisit the first Boss of the game. He is hidden in a different location this time. At the second shrine of this mission (the one closest to the Derrick Boss fight in the Prologue), go downstairs to find him in the basement. He is very easy to kill at this point in the game. Stay far away so he uses a dash attack. Then, dodge to the side and attack for three seconds. Dodge away after three seconds or else he will turn around and hit you. Repeat the process a few times to defeat him. When he performs his dash, dodge to the side, attack 2-3 times, dodge away, and repeat. Defeat him to get the “End Times” trophy.

Ashikaga Yoshiteru (Dual Swords Mystic Art Quest): Ashikaga Yoshiteru is an optional dojo Boss. To unlock his “The Grimmest Blades” dojo mission, reach 500,000 proficiency with dual swords and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission. Weapon proficiency can quickly be farmed after completing the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions, where enemies give more proficiency. Complete the fight to unlock the Mystic Art for the dual swords and get the “Dual Sword Master” trophy.

Hozoin Inei (Spear Mystic Art Quest): Hozoin Inei is an optional dojo Boss. To unlock his “Steel Across Steel” dojo mission, reach 500,000 proficiency with spears and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission. Weapon proficiency can quickly be farmed after completing the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions, where enemies give more proficiency. Complete the fight to unlock the Mystic Art for the spear and get the “Spear Master” trophy.

Sakata Kintoki (Axe Mystic Art Quest): Sakata Kintoki is an optional dojo Boss. To unlock his “The Invincible” dojo mission, reach 500,000 proficiency with the axe and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission. Weapon proficiency can quickly be farmed after completing the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions, where enemies give more proficiency. Complete the fight to unlock the Mystic Art for the axe and get the “Axe Master” trophy.

Shisenin Kosen (Kusarigama Mystic Art Quest): Shisenin Kosen is an optional dojo Boss. To unlock his “A Clash Of Sickles” dojo mission, reach 500,000 proficiency with the Kusarigama and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission. Weapon proficiency can quickly be farmed after completing the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions, where enemies give more proficiency. Complete the fight to unlock the Mystic Art for the Kusarigama and get the “Kusarigama Master” trophy.

Yagyu Sekishusai (Sword Mystic Art Quest): Yagyu Sekishusai is an optional dojo Boss. To unlock his “Zen And Sword Are One” dojo mission, reach 500,000 proficiency with swords and complete the “Immortal Flame” main mission. Weapon proficiency can quickly be farmed after completing the story by playing New Game+ level 180 missions, where enemies give more proficiency. Complete the fight to unlock the Mystic Art for the sword and get the “Sword Master” trophy.

Defeating all Bosses

Use the following strategies to defeat all Bosses in Nioh :

    1. Derrick The Executioner (Mission Level: 1): Derrick The Executioner is fought during the “Prologue”. Dodge to the side of his attacks, then perform a few hits. The axe works well, as it does the most damage early in the game. When he transforms into the second form, wait for him to run towards you, then dodge to the side, attack a few times, retreat, and repeat.

    2. Onryoki (Mission Level: 5): Onryoki is fought during the “Isle Of Demons” main mission. He is powerful but slow. Use low stance with any desired weapon and dash behind him when he attacks. Get a few hits in, then block. He will whirl around with his chain when you attack from behind. Blocking does void the damage (stay close to his back). Do not dodge away when behind him. In low stance, you are much more agile and the quick attacks give similar DPS as strong attacks early in the game.

    3. Hino-enma (Mission Level: 12): Hino-enma is fought during the “Deep In The Shadows” main mission. Her ranged attack is the most dangerous because it paralyzes you and then she can one-hit you if you are not careful. Always dodge to the side when she performs it. Try to stay just a few meters/yards away from her. When she attacks, dodge away from her. When she finishes her combo (and missed you), perform a few quick hits. The spear works best since it can hit her from far away. Jump away again, wait for her to miss a combo, counter-attack, and repeat. She does not have much health but is very quick. Remember to dodge to the side on all her ranged attacks.

    4. Nue (Mission Level: 19): Nue is fought during “The Spirit Stone Slumbers” main mission.

    5. Tachibana Muneshige (Mission Level: 19): Tachibana Muneshige is fought during “The Spirit Stone Slumbers” main mission. Use a spear in mid or high stance to easily defeat him. Dodge away from him when he attacks. Let him miss his attack, then counter with high/mid stance attacks. The spear can easily hit him from far away. When his KI depletes, knock him out and attack on the ground by pressing Triangle.

    6. Tachibana Muneshige (Mission Level: 27): Tachibana Muneshige is fought during the “Invitation From The Warrior Of The West” sub mission. Use a spear in mid stance and only heavy attacks (Triangle) to greatly reduce his KI. Dodge away when he attacks. Do this until his KI is low (blue bar below health). When his KI is under 30%, attack with heavy spear mid stance attacks to quickly deplete his remaining KI. Once he gets knocked down, press Triangle to perform a devastating ground attack. Do this a few times to defeat him. Unlike other Bosses, all that matters with him is his KI bar; his health is secondary. Only when his KI is low will you have the chance to inflict some good damage. The spear can reach him from far away and also reduces his KI a lot with each attack.

    7. Great Centipede (Mission Level: 27): The Great Centipede is fought during “The Silver Mine Writhes” main mission. During the first phase, quickly attack its legs. During the second phase, get behind it. Attack its legs with low stance light attacks a few times. It will then turn around and try to attack you with its mouth. Block this, then jump behind it again and repeat. You can repeat this method throughout the fight to easily defeat it. Even if it hits you with its mouth, you will take very little damage from it. When you time it correctly and stay behind the Centipede, it will not use its other stronger attacks at all.

    8. Umi-bozu (Mission Level: 38): Umi-bozu is fought during “The Ocean Roars Again” main mission. First, make sure you light all three evil warding bonfires (locations are listed below) so no minions spawn during the fight. Use dual katanas in low stance with a fire effect. Either use fire amulets or cast fire via magic. Amulets are better because you can use them more often. You may want to back up your save game before this fight, in case you spend all your amulets you can copy back the save game to get your items back. This Boss is very weak to fire. The reason why you should use dual katana in low stance is because it does the most hits per second. The fire damage is applied to each hit. The more hits you get per second, the more fire damage you inflict. If you use a slow weapon like an axe, it would do 30 fire damage per hit but you only do 1 hit per second. With dual katanas, you do 20 hits per second which is 600 fire damage or so. This will kill the Boss very quickly. Keep your guardian spirit for the last phase. The Boss will jump in the middle of the arena. Dodge around it and attack after it misses.

    9. Marume Nagayoshi (Mission Level: 40): Marume Nagayoshi is fought during “The Way Of The Warrior: Adept” dojo mission. Use a spear in mid stance against him. Wait until he misses an attack, then attack with Triangle. This spear attack can reach him from far away and does a fair amount of damage. It also reduces his KI quite a bit. If his KI is below 30% (blue bar below health), go full aggro on him with the spear. When his KI is depleted, he will fall to the ground and you can follow up with a strong finisher for massive damage (press Triangle while he is on the ground).

    10. Hattori Hanzo (Mission Level: 40): Hattori Hanzo is fought during “The Way Of The Ninja: Adept” dojo mission. Use dual katanas in low stance. Dodge behind him when he attacks. Then, go full aggro on him to break his weak guard, and perform a finisher with Triangle. Repeat this to quickly defeat him.

    11. Joro-Gumo (Mission Level: 47): Joro-Gumo is fought during the “Spider Nest Castle” main mission. Dodge behind her and attack the glowing thing on her back. Repeat this until she crawls together to protect her back. Then, attack her from the front and dodge away when she attacks. Attack a few times and dodge away again. When her health gets low, she becomes more dangerous. Use your living weapon at the end if it gets too dangerous.

    12. Yuki-onna (Mission Level: 55): Yuki-onna is fought during the “Falling Snow” main mission. Use ranged weapons against her (bow/rifle). She dies quickly since she does not have much health. She is very tough in close combat. If you want to do close combat, always dodge to the side when she throws something. Dodge away when she casts ice around her, then dodge towards her again to get some quick hits in. The only real window you have for close combat attacks is after she casts ice under her feet or breathes ice. When her health drops below 50%, she goes full aggro and you should really start using your gun and bow. Keep your living weapon in case the ranged weapons do not kill her.

    13. Onryoki (Mission Level: 52): Onryoki is fought during the “Demon Hunting” sub mission. He is powerful but slow. Use low stance with any desired weapon, and dash behind him when he attacks. Get a few hits in, then block. He will whirl around with his chain when you attack from behind. Blocking does void the damage (stay close to his back). Do not dodge away when behind him. While in low stance, you are much more agile and the quick attacks give similar DPS as strong attacks at increased KI recovery.

    14. Ii Naomasa (Mission Level: 58): Ii Naomasa is fought during “The Red Oni Of The Ii” sub mission. If you have trouble with him, buy the “Spearfall” skill for the spear. Use the spear in high stance and spam Spearfall when your KI is at max. Always wait for your KI to hit max so you have enough left to dodge away in case you miss. When you land the Spearfall attack, it will knock him down. You can then perform a ground finisher for massive damage. Repeat this a few times to quickly kill him. If you do not have that skill, you may want to return later when you have it unlocked. Not only is this fight easier with it, but practically any human sized enemies are very weak to it.

    16. White Tiger (Mission Level: 62): The White Tiger is fought during “The Demon Of Mount Hiei” main mission. Always dodge behind him and attack from behind. He is relatively fast — so use low stance to dodge more efficiently. He does not have much health. One use of your living weapon should finish him off when he drops below 40% health. Also, use the nearby hotspring before the fight to automatically refill your health.

    17. Giant Toad (Mission Level: 70): The Giant Toad is fought during “The Iga Escape” main mission. His attacks are extremely powerful but slow (can one-hit kill you). Use low stance with your favorite weapon. Dodge behind him and perform a few hits. He will then jump in the air and smash down again. Dodge away as soon as he jumps. When he is preparing for a spear attack, dodge to him to attack. Try to get to his back again so he repeats the same jump move. He always does the jump when you stay at his back for a few seconds. When his health is low, he begins throwing explosives at you. Just keep using the strategy from earlier and dodge to him when he is about to attack — so he will miss you if you time it right. Use the living weapon when he drops below 30% health. You can also use ranged weapons (bow/rifle) to inflict some decent damage.

    18. Marume Nagayoshi (Mission Level: 65): Marume Nagayoshi is fought during “The Way Of The Warrior: Veteran” dojo mission. Use the same strategy as in the Adept version of this mission. Either use the Triangle attack of mid stance spear when he gets close and spam it to deplete his guard, or use the “Spearfall” skill in high stance. Spearfall will instantly knock him to the ground and you can perform a finisher for massive damage. Repeat this move on him to quickly kill him. If you use the Spearfall skill method, wait for your KI to fully recharge before attacking. In case you miss, you will then have enough KI left to dodge away. If you do not have the Spearfall skill, focus on depleting his KI and breaking his guard. You can then knock him to the ground and perform the finisher.

    19. Hattori Hanzo (Mission Level: 65): Hattori Hanzo is fought during “The Way Of The Ninja: Veteran” dojo mission. Use the same strategy as in the Adept version of this mission. Use dual katanas in low stance. Dodge behind him when he attacks. Then, go full aggro on him to break his weak guard, and perform a finisher with Triangle. Repeat this to quickly defeat him.

    20. Onryoki (Mission Level: 70): Onryoki is fought during the “Greater Demon Hunting” sub mission. You will have already encountered him twice at this point in the game. Use the same strategy as before.

    21. Ogress (Mission Level: 78): Ogress is fought during the “Memories Of Death-Lilies” mission. Her attack patterns are very similar to Onryoki. Use your favorite weapon in low stance for quick dashes. Run in front/dodge away from her to let your KI fully recharge. When she attacks, dash to the left and attack her from the side (make sure you dodge to the left, as she has a harder time hitting you on this side). Perform some quick hits, dash away, and repeat. Do not attack her for too long because she will jump in the air and smash down for some massive damage. It is safer to back off and perform just a few short hits. She will then get stuck in repeating the same cycle of attacks. Once her health gets low, she uses long distance jumps that can be a bit tricky. She will redirect in the air so even if you dodge she sometimes lands on you and does massive damage. Keep a few health potions for the end or use the living weapon when she drops below 25% health.

    22. Honda Tadakatsu (Mission Level: 87): Honda Tadakatsu is fought during “The Defiled Castle” main mission. He is very easy to kill. Simply destroy the three purple crystals around the arena to instantly kill him. Use a living weapon for it to only take a few seconds.

    23. Okatsu (Mission Level: 87): Okatsu is fought during “The Defiled Castle” main mission. Her attacks are very quick but weak. After dodging one of her combos, use a spear in mid stance against her. Break her guard using strong attacks (press Triangle), then perform a finisher on the ground. Use very light armor and the Kato Spirit to recharge KI quickly. When she is cornered, you can spam strong attacks until her guard breaks. Alternatively, if you have the “Spearfall” skill unlocked (high stance), spam it on her. She has trouble blocking it and will immediately get knocked to the ground where you can follow up with a finisher. When she starts glowing yellow, she will be vulnerable for a few seconds — so run towards her and attack immediately.

    24. Giant Toad (Mission Level: 91): The Giant Toad is fought during “The Giant Frog Brawl” sub mission. You have already fought this Boss once before during “The Iga Escape” main mission. Use the same strategy as before.

    25. Honda Tadakatsu (Mission Level: 93): Honda Tadakatsu is fought during “The Champion Of The East” sub mission. This fight is very different from your first encounter because you can no longer instantly kill him with the purple crystals. This time it is a real fight. A very easy tactic is to use a spear in high stance with the “Spearfall” skill. Press Square, Triangle to attack (press Square only once). Use this move after dodging an attack or when he slowly walks towards you. It will instantly knock him on the ground, allowing you to perform a finisher for massive damage. Repeat this a few times to quickly kill him.

    26. Saika Magoichi (Mission Level: 96): Saika Magoichi is fought during the “Immortal Flame” main mission. He is a very skillful Boss with quick attacks that can kill you in one combo. Use dual katanas in low stance — they do not inflict much damage but are the fastest at dodging and consume the least KI. The quick strikes in low stance can even push Saika into the flames around the area, dealing extra fire damage. You need a lot of KI and quick KI recovery speed. The best moments to attack are after he jump-dashes towards you and misses, when he stops flying and comes back to the ground, and when he spawns his bird. Always make sure you have some KI left to dodge away. Do not use all your KI when attacking him. End your attack just before you run out of KI so you have enough left for 2-3 dodges. Otherwise, he can easily kill you with one combo. When he is flying in the air, dash towards him and block the attacks. Once he comes down, you are in a good position to attack. A living weapon helps a lot, as it inflicts a lot of damage and immediately knocks him out of the air. With one living weapon use, you can take down half his health bar.

    27. Hino-enma (Mission Level: 92): Hino-enma is fought during “The Silent Crow” sub mission. You already fought her during the “Deep In The Shadows” main mission. Use the same strategy as before.

    28. Otani Yoshitsugu (Mission Level: 103): Otani Yoshitsugu is fought during the “Sekigahara” main mission. Most of his attacks are weak and easy to dodge. The only time he gets dangerous is when his swords turn blue. You then have to deplete his KI (by attacking) to return him to normal form. While they are blue, he can one-hit kill you with some powerful projectiles. Use low stance during this part so you can dodge better. For the rest of the fight, you can also use low stance or mid stance (spear is recommended). Dodge behind him when he is attacking and perform a few hits. Attack from behind while he is stunned for increased damage. You also cannot use grapples/finishers on him.

    29. Shima Sakon (Mission Level: 103): Shima Sakon is fought during the “Sekigahara” main mission. He uses a spear and likes to do the leg sweep move. Dodge behind him or stay several meters/yards in front of him (blocking) to wait for one of his attacks to miss. Then, attack with any desired weapon and repeat. Using the spear in mid stance with the “Pole Kick” skill works well. Press Square(3), Triangle and repeat until you are out of KI. You can spam this combo on him. If one strike connects, he will not block and you can just keep spamming these buttons. Make sure to use the Pole Kick, otherwise he will start blocking again. After dealing a certain amount of damage, he will activate his living weapon. At this point, always dodge behind him and do not try to block. To deactivate his weapon, you must deplete his KI by attacking. Always dodge when he attacks and perform 1-2 hits from behind until he gets stunned. You can then spam the Pole Kick combo again.

    30. Gasha-dokuro (Mission Level: 111): Gasha-dokuro is fought during “The Source Of Evil” main mission. If you know what to do, he is easy to defeat. Before the fight begins, interact with all three red crystals around the Boss area. The mage at the start of the mission gives you an item that turns the crystals orange. They then reveal glowing spots that recharge your living weapon, which help a lot with the Boss. Gasha-dokuro has weak spots on his hands and feet. Destroying a weak spot causes him to rest his head on the mountain. Immediately rush to the top of the hill and attack his head. Repeat this 3-4 times to kill him. Activate the living weapon for extra damage. When you stand in glowing spots, your living weapon auto-recharges over time, as long as you activated the three crystals before the fight. He is also weak to wind damage — so use a wind based living weapon.

    31. Saika Magoichi (Mission Level: 115): Saika Magoichi is fought during “The Watcher In Darkness” sub mission. You had to fight him a few missions earlier. Use the same strategy as before.

    32. Ishida Mitsunari (Mission Level: 120): Ishida Mitsunari is fought during the “A Defiled Holy Mountain” main mission. He shoots some wind-elemental projectiles and uses sword attacks. Dodge his wind projectiles, as they cannot be blocked. When he attacks with the sword, dodge behind him and attack for 1-2 seconds, then dodge away and repeat. The spear in mid stance works well. Use the strong attacks (Triangle) since they will easily hit him and quickly deplete his KI. When he has no KI remaining, just keep attacking him, as he will not strike back as long as you have KI remaining. Sometimes he gets knocked on the floor and you can perform a finisher for extra damage. If you powered up a living weapon, keep it for when he has less than 25% health remaining to finish him off (ideally when he comes out of KI depletion since he will not be able to attack).

    33. Obsidian Samurai (Mission Level: 127): Obsidian Samurai is fought during “The Samurai From Sawayama” main mission. Use a spear in mid stance. Run or dodge away and wait for him to miss an attack. Then, use a strong spear attack (press Triangle in mid stance). After landing 1-3 hits, dodge away and repeat. When he uses dual katanas, the attacks are harder to dodge. You may want to keep a living weapon for this part or just wait for him to use the axe again. The axe is slow and easier to dodge.

    34. Oda Nobunaga (Mission Level: 135): Oda Nobunaga is fought during “The Demon King Revealed” main mission. The fight ends automatically in a cutscene when his health drops below 25%. He uses a sword and many types of elemental magic to enhance his weapon. Use a spear in mid stance and dodge all his attacks. After dodging, attack 2-3 times with strong attacks (Triangle). This will drain his KI very quickly and you can follow up with a powerful finisher. When he performs a sword dash, dodge behind him. For all other attacks, dodge away from him, allow him to miss, then hit him with the spear 2-3 times. When his KI is very low, keep attacking to break his guard.

    35. Kelley (Mission Level: 135): Kelley is fought during “The Demon King Revealed” main mission. He is very easy to kill when you constantly deplete his KI. Just keep attacking him with a spear in mid stance (press Triangle). When he blocks (red shield in front of him), dodge away. He always follow up with a grapple after blocking your attacks. When he misses, you can attack again. Sometimes he spawns the snake spirit and it comes flying towards you. Run away until it disappears. He will also sometimes use sword attacks, but they are not too dangerous. When you keep attacking him with the spear, he will always be out of KI and hardly get a chance to do anything. Perform grapples/ground finishers when he has no KI remaining.

    36. Yagyu Sekishusai (Mission Level: 100): Yagyu Sekishusai is an optional dojo Boss fought during the “Zen And Sword Are One” (Sword Mystic Art Quest) mission. In this fight, you both have a katana. Run a few meters/yards in front of him until your KI is fully recharged. Then, allow him to attack, and dash behind him. Get a few quick hits in and repeat. You can also inflict lots of damage by breaking his guard and performing ground finishers. Or block his attacks until his KI is low and throw some heavy attacks at him (you may get hit more often using this method).

    37. Ashikaga Yoshiteru (Mission Level: 100): Ashikaga Yoshiteru is an optional dojo Boss fought during “The Grimmest Blades” (Dual Swords Mystic Art Quest) mission. In this fight, you both have two katanas. An easy tactic is to block all his attacks until his KI is low. Then, perform some quick attacks to deplete his KI completely and do a ground finisher. Repeat this 3-4 times to quickly kill him. His attacks do not cost much KI to block, but if you did not put much skill in KI, you may instead want to dodge behind him. His strong attacks are easy to dodge and his quick ones inflict very little damage.

    38. Hozoin Inei (Mission Level: 100): Hozoin Inei is an optional dojo Boss fought during the “Steel Across Steel” (Sword Mystic Art Quest) mission. In this fight, you both have a spear. Either hit him using mid stance strong attacks (Triangle) to deplete his KI, then perform ground finishers. Or if you have the “Spearfall” skill, spam it on him. A successful Spearfall move will instantly put him on the ground, allowing you to perform a powerful finisher. Perform 3-4 ground finishers to kill him. Try to keep him on the bridge so he does not have much room to dodge your attacks.

    39. Sakata Kintoki (Mission Level: 100): Sakata Kintoki is an optional dojo Boss fought during “The Invincible” (Axe Mystic Art Quest) mission. In this fight, you both have an axe. Always dodge behind him (to the left when facing him so the axe swings do not hit you). Then, perform a quick combo in low stance and use KI pulse to recover KI completely. Repeat this until he is defeated. He is very slow and easy to dodge.

    40. Shisenin Kosen (Mission Level: 100): Shisenin Kosen is an optional dojo Boss and fought during the “A Clash Of Sickles” (Kusarigama Mystic Art Quest) mission. In this fight, you both have a Kusarigama. Try to deplete his KI and perform grapples or ground finishers for massive damage. Repeat this a few times to kill him. It is a very easy fight.

    41. Derrick The Executioner (Hidden Boss): During the final main mission, “The Queen’s Eyes” (Omi region), you can revisit the first Boss of the game.

    42. Yamata-no-Orochi (Mission Level: 135): Yamata-no-Orochi is the final story Boss and fought during “The Demon King Revealed” main mission. There are still Bosses after him, but defeating him results in the ending cutscene. He is a huge hydra. Each head has a different elemental effect, but they all do the same moves. The fight takes place on a rooftop and all around the roof are hydra heads. You must destroy each head. Find the sweet spot where the hydra head cannot hit you but is still trying to attack. Roughly 15-20 meters/yards is a good distance. When the head moves, it is about to attack — so run away. If, and only when, the attack fails, you can attack the head. Quickly run to it and attack in high stance for maximum damage. A lot of the attacks cannot be blocked — so focus on running and dodging. Go clockwise, killing one hydra head after the other (order: wind, water, lightning, fire, earth). This way you never get trapped between two heads. To your left will always be an open spot. After the fight, you will get the “Divine Obtainer” trophy and your first divine items, which are extremely powerful endgame gear.

    43. Hundred Eyes (Mission Level: 145): Hundred Eyes is the true end-Boss and fought during “The Queen’s Eyes” main mission. After the Yamata-no-Orochi game ending, you will unlock “The Queen’s Eyes” mission. This is basically the epilogue and takes place in London far away from the rest of the story. At the end of this mission, you fight the last unique main Boss in the game. Always attack him from behind. When you stay in front, he uses lots of laser attacks and projectiles. When you are behind, he sometimes swipes his tentacles around the floor, but it can be blocked. Over the course of the fight, he summons laser eyes that shoot at you but they die in one hit. Keep your living weapon for when he sits down to summon laser eyes the second time. Then, go full aggro on him and he should die. His most dangerous attack is when he shoots crystals at you. Those can instantly kill you. Run in a large circle 10-15 meters/yards away from him and they will miss you. Make sure to use magic buffs or enhance your weapon with an element (for example, fire to deal extra damage over time). Destroying his small laser eyes recharges your living weapon. During the first wave of laser eyes, keep one alive and attack the Boss instead. He will just sit around and take your damage. If you destroy all eyes, he will immediately get up to fight you.

All Kodama locations

Search the indicated locations to find all 150 Kodamas and get the “Kodama Leader” trophy. There are six regions in the game and each contains 25 Kodamas scattered across main and sub missions. As you play through the story, new regions will become available. The regions are (in order): Kyushu, Chugoku, Kinki, Tokai, Sekigahara, Omi. You can select Kodama Blessings at shrines. They are divided into five categories: more amrita, more weapon drops, more armor drops, more elixir drops, more material drops. Each of these blessing categories contain five Kodamas per region (5 categories x 5 Kodamas = 25 Kodamas per region). The more Kodamas you find, the stronger the blessing will become. Your Kodamas reset in every region. When you go to the second region, you have to find 25 Kodamas again to earn the blessings. The Kodamas in old regions are still saved but have no effect in new regions. None of these collectibles are missable. They can all be obtained through mission selection at any time, even after completing the story. When you scroll over a mission, it will display how many you found there. To see your total progress, press Touchpad – Titles – Gameplay Record – Other – Kodama Found (%). This only gives a percentage and not the number of collectibles found. If you missed a Kodama, do not worry. A lot of sub missions and twilight missions take place in the same area — so you can find the Kodamas in the same location there as well. You can also speedrun the mission and quit out after finding the Kodama (use item “Himorogi Fragment” from inventory to quit). All collectibles are instantly saved. You do not have to reach the next checkpoint and do not have to collect them again if you die. You can quit the mission immediately after finding the last Kodama.

Kyushu region (Isle Of Demons, Deep In The Shadows, The Spirit Stone Slumbers)

Chugoku region (The Silver Mine Writhes, The Ocean Roars Again, Three Angry Gods, The Conspirators)

Kinki region (Spider Nest Castle, Falling Snow, The Demon Of Mount Hiei)

Tokai region (The Iga Escape, Memories Of Death-Lilies, The Defiled Castle, The Trail Of The Master)

Sekigahara region (Immortal Flame, Sekigahara, The Source Of Evil, The Watcher In Darkness)

Omi region (A Defiled Holy Mountain, The Samurai From Sawayama, The Demon King Revealed)

All evil-warding bonfire locations in Itsukushima

Search the indicated locations to find all three evil-warding bonfire locations in “The Ocean Roars Again” main mission (Chugoku region). They also prevent the Umi-bozu Boss from spawning his minions, which makes the Boss fight much easier. At the start of the mission, talk to the mage near the shrine. She will give you flint to light the three fires. Then, go to all three bonfires and press Circle to interact with them. The bonfires during the Boss fight will also be lit after doing this.

All Teakettle fragment locations

Search the indicated locations in the “Spider Nest Castle” main mission (Kinki region) to find all six Teakettle fragments. Throughout this mission, there are large orange glowing spider webs. The first two are unmissable and must be destroyed to proceed. The other four are hidden around the map. When you get close to the web (or shoot it), a huge spider will jump out. Kill the spider and collect the purple glowing fragment. The third Teakettle fragment is in the spider cave, after dropping through the hole by the house. The fourth is after the spider cave on a watchtower (easiest to miss; shoot it with the bow). The fifth on the hill after opening gate and reaching third shrine. The sixth is on top of the hill after the burning wheel enemy, before entering the big building. You can replay this mission at any time. When restarting the mission, you must collect all fragments again. Collect all Teakettle fragments to get the “Ressurector Of The Hiragumo” trophy.

All hot spring locations

Search the indicated locations to find all 20 hot springs and get the “Spa Lover” trophy. The hot springs refill your health and provide a buff that recovers health over time. They can make a big difference when used before a Boss fight, or when you run out of elixirs this is a quick way to get replenish health without having to use a shrine. Most hot springs are well hidden in hard to reach places on the edge of the map. Anything you have missed can be obtained using mission select at any time. The hot springs are saved instantly after bathing in them. You do not have to use them again if you die. You can also quit the mission immediately (use Himorogi Fragment) and your progress will still be saved. You do not have to reach the next checkpoint. To see your progress, press Touchpad – Gameplay Record – Other – Hot Springs discovered (%) / Hot Springs bathed in (amount). “Hot Springs discovered” only displays a percentage, while “Hot Springs bathed in” displays the total number of times you used hot springs. If you use the same one multiple times, it will increase the amount as well — so this is not ideal for tracking (unless you never use the same hot spring more than once). If for some reason the trophy does not unlock, rush through all the missions again. You can collect all of these within 30 minutes if you know the missions well enough. If you want to combine it with the Kodama locations, it is recommended to get the Kodamas first and then look for the hot spring afterwards. Note: Main missions never have more than one hot spring.

Easy “Dungball Roller” trophy

You meet the dung lover in “The Defiled Castle” main mission (Tokai region). Give him 30 dungballs and he will give you his “Horned Turban Kabuto” helmet, which unlocks the “Dungball Roller” trophy. At the start of “The Defiled Castle” mission, farm the four Mudman enemies. They are found in the water and look like brown (dirty blobs) Umi-bozus from earlier in the game. They have a 20% chance of dropping a dungball. After killing all four, use the shrine to make them respawn and keep farming them until you have 30 dungballs. This can take an hour or so. They can also drop “Noble Dungballs” which are even better and count as multiple normal dungballs. Once you have 30 dungballs, go upstairs and talk to the man behind the door, near the second shrine of this mission. Give him your dungballs. You can always give him packs of five dungballs. After giving 30 dungballs, you will get his helmet and the trophy. If you give him noble dungballs, it will reduce the amount of normal dungballs needed. Noble dungballs are optional and not needed. Note: Mudmen are weak to fire. Enhance your weapon with fire magic to kill them with one hit. You can return to this section using mission select at any time. You will most likely find some noble dungballs randomly as you play through the rest of the story. This will reduce the amount of farming required. If he does not give you the helmet or stops talking to you, just keep farming Mudmen and bring him more dungballs.

Easy “Ugly Fellow” trophy

This trophy requires you to equip a Hyottoko Mask and kill an enemy with it. The following are three ways to get the mask:

    1. During “The Conspirators” mission (Chugoku region), get it from a corpse in the cave before the end room with the two ninjas. It also respawns when replaying the mission.

    2. Successfully complete the “Wreathed In Flame” mission (Kyushu region) to get it as a reward. You can also replay it as many times as desired to earn more masks.

    3. Buy it for 220 glory from the hidden teahouse. The teahouse unlocks approximately halfway through the campaign.

Equip the mask in a shortcut slot, then weaken an enemy so they die in one hit. It will breathe fire in a 2 meter radius, the enemies has to be close to you. If it kills the enemy you earn the trophy. If the enemy doesn’t die you must get another mask via one of the methods described above.

Easy “Yokai Telepathy” trophy

You must use gestures to communicate with a yokai to get the “Yokai Telepathy” trophy. This works on “Nurikabe” (walls that have eyes and attack you) and “Mujina” (they sometimes come out of boxes and imitate you). The walls are quicker to farm. The best spot is in the “Deep In The Shadows” (second) main mission. After entering the cave with the first bat swarm, there is a side room (has a red sword stuck in the ground) with some enemies and a Nurikabe inside. You must use a gesture in front of the wall. If you use the right type of gesture, the wall will peacefully disappear and it will count as a “communication.” There are blue, yellow, and red gestures. It does not matter which gesture you perform, as it just has to be the correct color. It is randomized on each playthrough which color is the right one. You have two tries before the wall gets aggressive. It is recommended to use yellow and red for the best results. Two tries are equal to a 66% success rate. If the wall gets aggressive, jump off the nearby cliff or let the enemies kill you. Then, run to the wall again and perform the third color for it to work. After the wall has disappeared, quit the mission using the Himorogi Fragment (usable item). Then, restart the mission and repeat this ten times. Always do yellow and red (if it fails kill yourself and do blue) for it to work. If you do this on Mujina, you must imitate the gesture that they do when transforming into your body.
