Rock Band 2
At the main menu, select the "Extras" option. Choose the "Modify Game" selection, then enter one of the following codes to unlock the corresponding cheat option. Enter the "Extras" menu to toggle a specific cheat on or off. Note: Enabling a code will prevent the game from being saved. Additionally, you cannot use the solo buttons on the neck of the Stratocaster to enter the codes.
- Unlock All Songs
Press Red, Yellow, Blue, Red(2), Blue(2), Red, Yellow, Blue to unlock all songs. Alternately, press Y, B, X, Y(2), X(2), Y, B, X on a controller. Note: This code also disables achievements and online features. -From: Geramie Edwards
- Select Venue Screen
Press Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow to unlock all venues. Alternately, press X, LB(2), X, B, X, LB(2), X, B on a controller. Note: This code also disables online features.
- New Venues
Press Red(4), Yellow(4) to unlock new venues. Alternately, press Y(4), B(4) on a controller.
- Awesome Detection
Press Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange. Alternately, press B, X, LB, B, X, LB, B, X, LB on a controller.
- Breakneck Speed
Press Orange, Yellow, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue. Alternately, press LB, Y, LB, Y, X, LB(2), X on a controller. This code increases the scroll speed of the instrument tracks.
- Performance Mode
Press Blue(2), Red(2), Yellow(2), Blue(2). Alternately, press X(2), Y(2), B(2), X(2) on a controller. Performance mode removes the track display.
- Stage Mode
Press Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red. Alternately, press X, B, Y, X, B, Y, X, B, Y on a controller. Stage mode tweaks the game for live, public performances. Note: This code also disables achievements, failing songs, pausing the game, and online features.

Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding instrument at the "My Closet" menu in the Rock Shop:
- Bomb bass: Successfully complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
- Bone microphone: Successfully complete the Impossible Marathon 2 Challenge on the microphone.
- Clear bass: Successfully complete the Rolling Stone Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on bass.
- Clear Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Successfully complete the Rolling Stone Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on guitar.
- Clear microphone: Successfully complete the Rolling Stone Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on the microphone.
- Glowing drum set: Successfully complete the Rolling Stone Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on drums.
- Goat head guitar: Successfully complete the Impossible Marathon 2 Challenge on guitar.
- Gold bass: Successfully complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
- Gold drum set: Successfully complete the Impossible Drum Challenge.
- Gold Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Successfully complete the Impossible Guitar Challenge.
- Gold microphone: Successfully complete the Impossible Vocal Challenge.
- Silver bass: Successfully complete the Final Band Challenge on bass.

Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding clothing at the "My Closet" menu in the Rock Shop:
- Ultimate Goth Outfit: Successfully complete the Impossible Drum Challenge.
- Ultimate Metal Outfit: Successfully complete the Impossible Vocal Challenge.
- Ultimate Punk Outfit: Successfully complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
- Ultimate Rock Outfit: Successfully complete the Impossible Guitar Challenge.
- Ultimate Metal Outfit: Successfully complete the Impossible Vocal Challenge.
Select "Tour Challenges" in "Tour" mode. Successfully complete the five decade challenges from 1960s through 2000s. After completing the ten songs from the challenges, you will unlock all other songs.
Enable the "Select Venue Screen" code. Go to the "New Venues Only" option at the "Modify Game" menu. Start the game in Quickplay mode, and choose a song. A "Video Shoot" option will sometimes appears at the top of the "Select Venue" menu. Press Up to display it. The options will be "Indie Genius Video Shoot", "High-Budget Video Shoot", or "Film Student Video Shoot". Select one of them to play with the corresponding alternate background.
Play with at least two other people. Have one band member fail two times and the other band member fail one time, and save them each time to get the "Band Savior" achievement.
Download the "Charlene I'm Right Behind You" song by Stephen And The Colberts. The drum line is simple, even on the Expert difficulty. Just practice a few times, and you should get the "Flawless Drumming" achievement quickly.
Select "So Watcha Want" by the Beastie Boys, and turn lefty flip on. Choose the bass on the Expert difficulty, and play the song. The song only has green notes.
Play the "Give It Away" song by Red Hot Chili Peppers. There are three solos, and the first one is the easiest. Just play on the solo buttons from the start of the song until you get to it.
Note: This trick requires that you have transferred the songs from Rock Band to Rock Band 2. Select "Wave Of Mutilation" by the Pixies, and choose the guitar on the Expert difficulty. The solo is only about fifteen notes and are orange and blue. Use the solo buttons to play them.
Go to Quick Play or Tour mode, and select "So Watcha Want" by the Beastie Boys on the Expert difficulty. When the song starts, put the microphone up to your speaker(s), and hold it there for the duration of the song. The only thing you will have to do is yell to activate Overdrive when it appears and tap the microphone for the solo parts. At the end of the song, you will have a 100% rank and gold stars. Note: Make sure your volume is loud enough. For just a gold star, select "Give It Away" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and do the same thing. You will get a 99% rank without singing. If you want a 100% rank on that song, you must be able to hit the last phrase in the song.
Select "Foreplay/Longtime" by Boston. Two players must be able to play on the Expert difficulty and one player on at least the Medium difficulty. Finish the song with at least 97% each, and you will have well over a million points.
Go online or play with friends locally, and have a guitarist, bassist, and drummer. Make sure all players' Overdrives are filled to the maximum. Have the drummer go first and activate Overdrive. Just before his or her meter runs out, have the guitarist activate his or hers. Just before his or hers ends, have the bassist activate his or hers. Each player will keep it going during the duration of the song, earning as you burn overdrive. Pay attention to each others' meters. At the end of the song, you will get the "The Bachman-Turner Award" achievement.
Select Score Duel or Tug Of War mode. Plug in a second instrument, and just play one to get the "Victory" achievement.
Accomplish the indicated achievement to get the corresponding number of Gamerscore points:
- Solid Gold, Baby! (25 points): Gold Star a song.
- The Bachman-Turner Award (25 points): Maintain deployed Overdrive for 90 seconds.
- Flawless Fretwork (25 points): Score 100% notes hit as a guitarist on Expert.
- Flawless Guitar Solo (20 points): 100% a guitar solo on Expert, using only the solo buttons.
- Flawless Drumming (25 points): Score 100% notes hit as a drummer on Expert.
- Flawless Singing (25 points): Score a 100% rating as a vocalist on Expert.
- Flawless Groove (25 points): Score 100% notes hit as bassist, up-strums only, on Expert.
- Comeback Kid (15 points): Defeat the last player that defeated you over Xbox LIVE in either Score Duel or Tug of War.
- Victory! (15 points): Defeat a player in either Score Duel or Tug of War.
- Band Savior (20 points): Be a savior three times during a single song.
- Overdrive Overdose (25 points): Achieve an 8x Band Multiplier.
- Hello Cleveland! (20 points): Deploy Vocal Overdrive 4 times in a single song.
- Million Point Club (25 points): Earn more than 1,000,000 points in a single song.
- You're Hired! (10 points): Hire a staff member.
- Needs more Umlauts! (10 points): Make a band logo.
- The San Dimas 4th Annual Award (15 points): Compete in a Battle of the Bands event.
- You Killed the Radio Star (15 points): Make a music video in World Tour.
- Clothes to the Edge (20 points): Buy over $100,000 worth of items from the Rock Shop.
- Along for the Ride (10 points): Beat an instrument-specific challenge while playing another instrument.
- Challenge Novice (10 points): Complete either 25 challenges on Medium, 10 challenges on Hard, or 5 challenges on Expert.
- Challenge Master (15 points): Complete 25 Challenges on Hard Difficulty or 10 Challenges on Expert Difficulty.
- Challenge Savant (25 points): Complete 25 Challenges on Expert Difficulty.
- The Final Countdown (15 points): Unlock an Impossible Challenge.
- Groove Assassin (20 points): Beat the Impossible Bass Challenge.
- Lord of the Strings (25 points): Beat the Impossible Guitar Challenge.
- Stage Igniters (25 points): Beat the Impossible Band Challenge.
- AN-I-MAL!!! (25 points): Beat the Impossible Drum Challenge.

- Beat It! (10 points): Complete all beats at 60 BPM or higher or half of the beats at 140 BPM or higher.

- Vinyl Artist (20 points): Finished the Endless Setlist 2 in World Tour on Medium.
- Gold Artist (30 points): Finished the Endless Setlist 2 in World Tour on Hard.
- Platinum Artist (50 points): Finished the Endless Setlist 2 in World Tour on Expert.
- The Bladder of Steel Award (25 points): Completed the Endless Setlist 2 without pausing or failing.
- Rock Immortal Inductee (20 points): Joined the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list.
