20XX Steps Up To Take Mighty No. 9’s Place

20XX Steps Up To Take Mighty No. 9’s Place

Mighty No. 9 has been delayed until 2016, much to the dismay of its many Kickstarter backers. Taking advantage of this sad fact, a brand new Mega Man styled game is taking Mighty No. 9 ’s place in its original release slot of September 15, 2015. The game is called 20XX , and it’s a Mega Man of a different color.

20XX is styled off of Mega Man X. It features two characters, one of which plays like X and another which plays like Zero, and can be played cooperatively both local and online with one player controlling each. Its levels are procedurally generated, and it has over 100 collectible weapons, items, and power-ups. It’s kind of like a randomly generated Mega Man X game. A Mega Man X roguelike, if you will.

20XX will be going into beta on September 15 this year. The game is currently only in alpha and can be purchased on Steam Early Access, although much of its content is not included. The beta, however, will include much of what you will see in the final version of the game. Its release date and the former release date of Mighty No. 9 cannot be a coincidence.
