Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has surpassed the one million mark for Beta testing. Additionally, the game’s official website has received five million unique visits from over 200 different countries. Finally, Funcom has stated that over 800,000 people have signed up for the Clan of Conan newsletter. Combine all of this with the buzz in the media, and these numbers seem to point to a successful MMO experience in the works.
On the other hand, the game’s director Gaute Godager has pointed out that players will reach the level maximum in a paltry 250 hours of gameplay. Does this mean gameplay will be nerfed for a broader audience? Or does it simply concentrate on the storytelling rather than power leveling? Time will only tell if the game becomes a true alternative to the other MMORPGs out there.
