Antonio Brown Is the Madden 19 Cover Athlete

Antonio Brown Is the Madden 19 Cover Athlete

Last year, the “ Madden for Everyone” featured New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on the cover. This year, Madden 19 is going to Pittsburgh, as the Steelers’ All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown is the new cover athlete. The new color scheme is also, appropriately, extremely Yellow.

Madden covers have, as noted by ESPN, been either action-oriented or serious lately, but Brown’s cover is a lot more happy-go-lucky in tone. It features a much brighter and more welcoming image, frankly, and ties into a lot of the series’ new efforts to be accessible.

Brown has been an All-Pro receiver for four consecutive seasons, and he was the runner up to Todd Gurley as the 2017 NFL Offensive Player of the Year. As part of the announcement, Brown commented on being excited to be on the cover, as he has a personal connection with the series from playing Madden games as he was growing up.

Madden 19 is available for preorder, and it will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 10, 2018. The Hall of Fame Edition comes with three days’ early access.
