Successfully complete the indicated mission in Attack mode to unlock the corresponding character in Expedition mode:

Annie Leaonhart: Successfully complete “The World The Girl Saw” mission.
Bertolt Hoover: Successfully complete the “At The Edge Of The Forest” mission.
Christa Lenz: Successfully complete the “At The Edge Of The Forest” mission.
Erwin Smith: Successfully complete the “Soldiers Dance” mission.
Hange Zoe: Successfully complete the “Return To Trost District” mission.
Levi: Successfully complete the “Scout Regiment” mission.
Reiner Braun: Successfully complete “The World The Girl Saw” mission.

Trophies

Successfully complete one of the following tasks to get a trophy:

I’m gonna destroy them! Every last one that’s on this earth! (Platinum): Acquired all trophies.
I swear to you… I will eradicate the Titans!! (Gold): Reached 100% Survey Mission completion.
The outside world must be ten times bigger than inside the Wall! (Gold): Reached 100% Gallery completion.
Avoid unfavorable battles. (Silver): Used items a total of 100 times.
Devote your heart! (Silver): Unlocked all characters.
Don’t be stupid. I’ve always been talkative. (Silver): Completed all requests.
Fight! Fight! Fight!!! (Silver): Subjugated a total of 1,000 enemies.
Huh? Help what? (Silver): Subjugated 10 Titans within 1 minute.
If you don’t know about something, you just have to learn it. (Silver): Reached 50% Gallery completion.
