Barbie And Monster High Games To Launch With Movie Releases

Barbie And Monster High Games To Launch With Movie Releases

Developer Little Orbit is showcasing two upcoming games based off of Mattel’s popular doll franchises.

Barbie Dreamhouse Party takes its source material from the “Life in the Dreamhouse” web series, where Barbie and her friends tackle the trials of living the posh life in the made up Malibu where Barbie now resides. The storyline follows that of the upcoming DVD movie, where the house goes berserk due to the robotic butler system (think Barbie version of GLaDOS) being set to evil mode.

It is a party game with various mini-games requiring Barbie and her BFFs to bring control back the Dreamhouse. The one mini-game showcased had Barbie and her besties catching cupcakes being launched around the kitchen, then having to stack them neatly back onto the table. The game is still early in development, so there is no information on how many mini-games will be include.

Monster High 13 Wishes is a 3D action platformer that will be a continuation of where the movie will end with an added twist; that added twist is that the bad guy (no reveal on who that is) has won. Playing as the various “ghouls” (girls), you travel around the school to solve the mystery of the Magical Lantern. Every character has a Freaky Flaw that gives them an exclusive power, some of which are required to access secret areas.

Progressing through the campaign will unlock different costumes for the girls to swap into. Monster High 13 Wishes will be a single-player experience for the most part; however, there will be some limited multiplayer play. Details about what that includes was not disclosed
