Best Buy has apparently noticed that it is lagging behind other major retailers for video game sales, and hopes to correct that problem by hiring dedicated, knowledgeable employees for its gaming department. The employees will be tasked with manning video gaming desks, steering customers towards pre-orders, and assisting with trade-ins and digital offers such as exclusive DLC.  The company also plans to grow its video gaming section while downsizing music sections due to anemic sales of physical music media. Best Buy hopes to lure in more game traders by emphasizing that trade-in credits can be used to purchase anything at the store, rather than just video games. |
