Bill Murray Returning to Ghostbusters

Bill Murray Returning to Ghostbusters

One of the biggest impediments to making a Ghostbusters 3 was the refusal of Bill Murray to appear in any sort of reboot. He went on record in an interview with David Letterman, saying that he simply doesn’t think continuing Ghostbusters is a good idea. “They just don’t have a really good script,” said Murray. “It’s hard to make a sequel.”

But Murray seems to like the new direction the studio has chosen, especially the entirely female ghostbusting team. Giving his approval, Murray has signed on for a cameo in this new film. He and Dan Akroyd have both been seen on set, and while their roles will likely be little more than cameos, it’s good to know that they will be picking up the ol’ proton packs once more. It’s a shame that Harold Ramis passed away, but I’m sure Ernie Hudson is available.
