According to a recent article by The Hollywood Reporter, Doug Liman, director of The Bourne Identity , is in final negotiations to direct the movie adaptation of the Ubisoft title, Splinter Cell . The movie will be developed by New Regency, with Ubisoft advising. Basil Iwanyk and Jean Julien Baronnet of Thunder Road Pictures and Ubisoft respectively will be producing. Liman himself will also have a producing credit along with his partner David Bartis. The script was written by Eric Singer, who also wrote the first draft of American Hustle , and Tom Hardy is set to star as Sam Fisher.
